still no way to clear the programs ? right-clicking 20 or 30 programs isn't a solution
thanks Gear that worked. Wish i didn't need the search service just to look in one folder tho, ssd and all that.
that wouldn't solve the problem. better to solve the problem, which in this case is add the feature of reading this registry value and actually keeping the programs off the start menu which is a feature in windows, than tell people just right-click.
in windows 7 it is possibe to exclude a program from appearing in the recently used programs list. quote from sevenforums.com To automatically and permanently exclude a program from appearing there: [Start] [Run] [Regedit] Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileAssociation\ In the right pane, double click AddRemoveApps</spa
i saved a downloaded file, it appears in the recent documents menu but the search doesn't look in there when i type the name in the start menu command box. it doesn't work like the windows 7 menu did. Also when i click on search more places a window quickly appears and disappears, idk why it does that, must be the search window then for some reason disappears by itself. help ?
i admit there's a problem there for the devs to fix. but who clears the jumplists or recently used programs like that every day ? frankly i think its a bit much. unless you don't want someone looking at the pr0n you look at lol, At very least use a program like ccleaner & learn to automate it at startup. lol clearing jumplists on a daily basis lol
more specifically, i have programs i don't want to see in the left side, is there a way to prevent them from showing up ?
Just noticed when i type a part of the name of some recent document in start8 , it doesn`t look for it in the recent document menu or folder.
