Not sure if this has been mentioned before but with the recent survey I didnt see it listed. What I would love to see is more options for ground combat. Perhaps something similar to defensive tactics or even multi-turn invasions. While the overall space battles seem to be quite well designed I always felt that the ground aspect was overlooked. This is true of most games out there but for the next version it would be quite cool to have some more interaction. My 2 cents...

This is why I didnt want multi-player. As mentioned above, if we knew we were losing we would rather give our remaining stuff to someone else that might revenge us. I would expect the new threads to be people demanding that stardock block players from doing that as they are "robbed" of their rewards. Crying foul when the AI does something that we ourselves would do is a bit off I would say. Peronally in an MP game I would gift all my ships to my enemies enemy and then gift my tech/cas

c. 30% of the squares having planetary defenses makes no sense. Screw planetary defenses. They don't help much anyway as they thus far have never prevented me from easily taking the AI's planets, it only costs me a few more solders. This would be MUCH better spent on manufacturing and building ships to defend planets with. I agree with this. Wh

Personally I always made two forces. My defense fleet with high sheilds, armor or ECM (dependingon need) and my attacking force with more firepower but still with proper defense just not as high. However I may try out simply ignoring defense now if I know my defense ships will get to fire no matter what. I should be able to build 2x as many cargo hull defenders with lots of weapons as my defenders. Sure a lot will get killed but I know the attacker will be wiped out too durring the attack.

Im torn by the change to the attack/defend. If now I KNOW I will get to fire no matter what, why not crank out a lot of small ships with no engines and lots of guns with NO defense? Sure, 50% will get blasted but so will thier few capital ships. You would win by simple numbers with wave after wave of massive fighter fleets as they all get to fire even if they are attacked first. However this would help my defensive fleets so that is a good thing but its still something to

It seems that while they are not there it also seems that it is fairly balanced. Good gets some major defensive bonuses and techs, Evil a lot of offensive tech/goodies and netuers get major planet/trade and learning boosts. Depending on your play style it seems to be some good choices.

I love the change as mentioned it makes invasions a lot more costly. Normally if I lost 80% of my invasion fleet I didnt worry as my race didnt seem to understand birth control so We Can Make More! Now with the new system losing THAT many troops hurts a heck of lot more and forces me to protect those ships more agressively. Also this means that hitting AI transports is also a lot more valuable

What keeps Civ3 and civ4 on my PC isn't the multiplayer but MODS. Absoloutely, I think mods allow for a good online community, and lengthen a games lifespan. I've quickly become tired of some of my multiplayer games, yet many SP games remain on my hard drive, including the Civ series, and Morrowind. <b

--adding code to be able to upgrade but not overwrite core designs and mods Best thing to happen yet!! This is why I love this company! They actually listen to requests from customers and act on them. Doing it as a free update doesnt exactly hurt either. BRAVO!!!! and Thank you!

Considering how well the game is selling, I dont think them not including MP is hurting them at all. Sure, they may have lost a few sales but thier dedicating all thier resources to a VERY strong SP game seems to have worked out for the best. The game is getting near perfect reviews, its selling VERY well and we get a DARN strong AI to play against... so why do we need MP?

sorry guys but they dont care. Here is the response I got from them. From: Admin@saveheros.org I am only going to state this once... get it to your "team". We at SaveHeroes.org did not create our petition to stop development or inclusion of StarForce. We do not condone the invasive procedures used by StarForce, but that was never our intent, and WILL never become our intent. Please stop sending these emails

Its an interesting area. Does having a huge fleet of older ships outweigh having a modern fleet? If you only gain the non-military techs and then research military you would be behind but not by very much. Most games I am behind in tech and as long as I have enough ships i have generally had little problems with the AI's. Given the new logistic changes I expect this to be even more true down the road as I will be able to add more smaller ships to my de

I like the idea of options as a lot of times I will only want to upgrade one portion of a design with a new weapon but keep everything else. Having to replace all the gear takes up time and often results in me writing down the old design so I can reference it on paper. I can see where a complete overhaul would be nice but I would like the option of what gets deleted.

The problem with the copy protection system is the assumtion that if they stop piracy, sales will go up. Perhaps its a bit of ego too in that if sales did not equal what was expected, its not that the game is poor or not what the consumers wanted, its piracy. Keep in mind that Stardock's model is one of streamlined work. Small teams(compared to AAA titles) and realistic expectations. They did not blow the company on one game as many compani

Another way to look at this is if Earth was invaded wouldnt the planetary governments quickly draft every able bodied person they could? Right now there is perhaps a few active troops in comparison to the population but if push came to shove they could crank out lots of cheap weapons and flood them to the front lines. Unless your technology is FAR greater, it would probably be a meat grinder in RL too.

I agree that I would like to see some expansion on the ground combat. Something in line with how they did the space would be fine even but perhaps more general. I would like what I research to be represented on the screen. If I have super tanks, then show my tanks but not mecha if I dont have them yet. Make me care about the land war as much as you made me care about the space war.

Citizen Tolorion will buy this game when you finally add a multiplayer option. and for those who don´t like multiplayer: use single player. Why are you bothering to post this? Thier game is #1 in sales so it seems most players dont care about MP after all which is pretty much what Brad has said

Starbases are insane. You cannot build armadas of constructors just for one starbase. Its really frustrating 99% of the time you build constructors and waste your time with clicking on a starbase to upgrade it etc. Its that kind of insane that I begin to not build them anymore, but the computer does, even within your own territory lol. Thats normaly like an attack and a r
