The only real difficult battle in the whole game, no matter with which units (except dragons of course) you enter it. The only one where I found it impossible to prevent a unit loss. Regards, Thorsten

I still don't get the real problem. Who has more gets more is at the bottom of all 4X games with an economy model. This fact should be considered in the options for a win, not in any attempt to artificially increase endgame difficulty. I agree that FE has a particularly bad city management AI, same for unit management, and can't handle magic. But that influences mid game, where it is way too wasy to conquer well developed enemy cities, late game the game is decided anyway. Wha

If that´s the case I hope I can either avoid the update to 1.7 or I will dust the game. Hero leveling and experimenting was the last element keeping me playing the sandbox that is FE. Regards, Thorsten

Most importantly - build up a Defender hero with spell resist for the whole army. Most annoying Dragon feature is not its fire breath - yes, it can cost you a unit but that´s just it - but that it starts the fight with "fear" before anyone else can move. And if 2/3rd of your units can´t move for 3 turns it can be a quite bloody battle. Why dealing with any armour in first place? Initiative is so much more valuable in the game that iron armour is a waste of production time and cost. But more or less everything is unbalanced in FE, thus ist does not really matter if there is one thing more or one thing less. While still having less content than Master of Magic, where imbalances (and the braindead AI) were already a concern in 1991, FE easily manages to stockpile these much higher.
