Thank you for responding. The desktop reset to 'Windows 7 basic' theme, according to Control Panel> personalisation. Also, Stardock Fences keeps showing the following pop-up message(1) that goes away when manually reapplying theme via Windows blinds Control Panel. (1)"Fences folder portals feature is unavailable in classic mode. Please enable Aero to use this feature." Despite this pop-up, fences still works, but it is very annoying to have it repeat

I have already searched for a solution but found none, so I am forced to post here. Details: WindowsBlinds 8, Stardock Fences 2.0, Windows 7 SP1 Problem: The software works correctly but at startup it always defaults to the standard windows theme, so I have to manually go into settings and re-apply my theme at shutdown/restart. I have tried adding windowsblinds exe to startup folder but this just loads the config panel and it still defaults to windows basic theme.<
