What if you build two star bases in one sector; do abilities get added up? For exmaple if I cant build up my star base attack modules due to limited tech ability will building another star base (in the same sector) add to already existing abilities? -TLA-Russian

"Just like the space monster special from the prison. They'll follow your space ship anywhere. I just lead them to other races spaceships, and the monsters blow up the other races ships! free military power!!! " - thats pretty cool LOL Anyway, no spacesharks or any 'growing evil' you guys talking about has ever happened to me :( and, honestly, I am eagerly awaiting for it to happen in my current game so I can kick some serious butt (or have mine handed over to me) :notsure: <br

Excellent story. I did notice however the so called war "behind enemy lines" is a awesome tactics. If you have a couple of very fast ships destroying trade routes, constructors and transports of your enemy after a while he will beg for mercy. Thats what I did to Drengin and without ever managing to take even one of their planets (most of the war was on my territory) they asked for peace and paid me 250bc/turn (which really helped my economy recover from a long war) :) -TLA-Rus

I just finished another game after updating GalCiv with a patch and it was brilliant. It was hard, but brilliant. No more getting 1000bc per month for simply selling a couple of tech'es. Well done developers for solving the problem so quickly ;) -TLA-Russian PS: Any more thoughts on 'declaring war and making peace the same turn issue'? I agree with Dearmad that there should be some time limit on how long you have to stay in the state of war or for how long you must c

I think Brad mentioned somewhere that if you have high taxes then less people are paying them, thereby less people are actually registered as citizens and vice versa. So if you lower taxes it doesnt mean people get more children, instead people are coming out of the shadows and becoming "real" citizens of your empire. Following this logic I would assume that if taxes are very high then your population might drop. I have never seen that happen since I never put my taxes too high. <br

Also I, as far as I know, the more profitable it is to choose an evil option the more impact it has on your morality even if its the same event. I had an event pop up saying if I want to increase my planet quality by 20% at the expense of some life forms or smth...Well, before I made my choice I was on 56 evil/good rating. I chose the evil option thinking it wont do much damage and my rating fell to 42 (and thats a big jump) -TLA-Russian

Another thing that I did the other day: Yor was the weakest. And I wanted to take out Arceans. So I went to Arceans and said that I will declare war on the Yor if they give their space ships that were garrisoning their planets. They agreed. Straight after that I went to Yor and (the same turn) made peace with them. So in the end I declared war on Arceans but they didnt have any ships to defend themselves with since they literally gave them to me for free. -TLA-Russian

Ok Frogboy... I am not sure if you are implying that I am a lying. I love this game and I only want to make it better :notsure: I submitted my score twice now, so if its not showing up on the metaverse...well..its not my fault. I finished a game on medium map with all AI set to intelligent. The game wasnt challenging at all since this trading tech exploit made me rich beyond my dreams really fast. Now I am playing on large galaxy (the one straight after medium) with a

Do NEVER attack with a fleet. Attack indivudually and you will see the result will be different. Fleets were implemented into the game so its easier to move units around the map. When it comes to combat attack one by one... -TLA-Russian

Awesome website :) JavaScout. One more thing probably related to espionage: For no apparent reason all my startbases and took a massive hit in HP. Same with some starships (:( Is it because someone is destabilizing me? If yes how can I find out who it is?

"#8 by Avatar Frogboy - 3/29/2003 4:45:17 PM This isn't an exploit, at higher AI levels, the AI is aware of this tactic. It looks at what percentage of its income is in leaess from trade when it evaluates a proposal." Higher than Intelligent? I am afraid to go beyond that LOL Anyway, I usually sell more technology as soon as my income hit negative territory. In other words you will propose to sell tech at the moment when AI is stops paying you anything making

I won the game through cultural victory yesterday (medium map, all AI set to Intelligent). I have mentioned this before in my 'Whats wrong with this AI???' thread. At one point in the game I had a monthly income of 5000bc (zero tax level, 100% gov expenditure). It kept getting bigger and bigger. By the end of the game i had accumulated 105000bc through trading tech only. However I tried to do the same on large galaxy and my first attempt went like this: a) I got very few plane

Planets with class 15 and below are both morally and economically unjustified. Once I colonised 2 palnets with 13 quality. Well, they ware the biggets pain in the ***. With all the ecology ungrades and population at around 200m their moral was still very low. Now I never bother with planets below 15. Only in very special curcumstances (e.g. when AI has many more planets than I do) i will colonise planets of class 14. -TLA-Russian

"#9 by Citizen BvG - 3/29/2003 6:01:40 PM So -TLA-Russia, are you playing the best AI or a reduced difficulty one? " I am playing on intelligent level. Its not the highest level but I think this is the limit after which AI gets some economy bonuses. And since I like to play fair this is the level I like most. -TLA-Russian

1) AI at the begining of the game expands really well (since it knows where the good planets are) and it tends to block me all the time. I think it heads straight for your location to take planets near YOU rather than colonise planets around themselves. I love this feature cos it makes things much more difficult. 2)I have won on intelligent level (all AI were intelligent) and what I noticed is that when they are trying to invade a planet they first destroy all the defences, then they se

Cymsdale thats exactly what i am talking about. Soulfire777 i have just finished the game i was talking about (won through cultural victory just as i expected) and got a mere 345 points LOL Next game I am having on a big map. BTW I have just checked the size on gigantic galaxy and its ... well... gigantic. I dont think i will ever finish a game on a map as big as that. -TLA-Russian
