Hi, I've just started a game in Crusade 2.21 where with "occasional" Extreme planets but the first five I discovered were Extreme: four required Atmospheric cleansing and the other Extreme Colonisation. Has anybody else experienced this and does anybody know offhand the definition of occasional. If it's 0.2 then we're at 1/3125 which is small but would occur with a large enough sample. If 0.1 then we're at /100000 which feels like it's going a bit on th
- Colonize events don't happen every time you colonize a planet in a new system. Maybe that's intentional and there is a certain high, but not 100, percentage that these events happen. I also do not exactly know what should happen if you colonize the second, third, ... planet in a system. (still in 2.2.1) It's not supposed to. It's random. Hi, Since asteroids have become so important in Crusade, I wonder if we could have them more clearly marked on the map - with my rather poor eyesight I miss them quite easily and sometimes don't know whether they've been utilised without hovering with the mouse. A list of unused ones would be even better, if more work for Stardock The other thing is auto upgrades in planets. I know that some people just have them turned off and this has become sensible with the new resou
- The Citizen mechanic as such is great, but not perfect. I tend to pile all citizens (and that are mostly scientists) for planetary bonuses on my home planet since there are some powerful buildings from the start and it makes no sense to put citizens elsewhere. Perhaps that would be otherwise later in the game, but then it's not possible to relocate the planetary citizens anymore. Since there is already the mechanic that citizens must trav
Hi, Once you've got the right techs you can assign a planet either to recruit a spy or a citizen. These are useful once complete and take ages so they effectively turn the planet off for a good long time. Cheers, Jon
Hi, I presume that nobody plays this splendid game to get high scores but I was a bit miffed today and wonder what other people - and Stardock - have to say. In Crusades 2.2 at Genius I was playing on a huge map with just ten random opponents (which I guess may impact the final score?) On move 243, after eliminating eight of them, I, perhaps somewhat lazily, leave the last two alive and build the Ascension Gate. At this stage I have 115 planets with a popu
Hi, I've always placed all of my legions on the same tile - or split them between two if there's an extra city - and haven't had any problems at all. Cheers, Jon
Hi, Crusades has hugely reduced the opportunities to create either raw production or raw research (no Durantium Refineries or Thulium Data Archives ) and I feel that this has produced a more or less forced early ideological path, whatever your civilisation's real predilections. I play on quite sparse maps since I like to be able to expand - 9 random opponents on a huge map at the moment and at genius. it seems to me that you have to use your first three planets to get to Motiv
I'd say that the main problem with Crusades is the low base production. You can circumvent this with the second tier malevolent tech which gives the home world +10 or asteroids but the latter are a bit random. And if you want to get a good tech rate then the best way, if there are enough planets around, is to fill in the bottom line of the benevolent tree when the final item of +5 base research per planet is huge: but you need the whole line and this is hard to combine with the
Hi, In 2.14 and I think also 2.13, I've sometimes colonised planets and not got an ideological event. (Obviously I'm not talking about second or in some cases third home planets when there isn't supposed to be one.) In the opening, when it's critical, I've solved this by reloading from an auto-save but it is a mild pain. I presume this isn't a new idea for Crusades. Has anybody else experienced this and is Stargate on the case please. Cheers, <
Hi, Using the Terran tech tree at least this one (gained by Exploration Extension) seems to have no effect - it reads extend by +2 and doesn't add to the previous module unlocked by Support Field Mastery. Cheers, Jon
Never. Ever. Play this game with auto-upgrade enable. EVER. It never do any good for you and it never do any good for anyone since it launch. I don't get why they just don't add an option to disable it by default already. Start a new game? Disable it on your homeworld. Colonized a new planet? Disable it too. Another planet? Do that too!
I don't always disable auto upgrades but do always try to remember
Hi, My slow turns only started after it updated to 2.13 so I suspect it may be that. It's also started behaving a bit strangely during turns, sometimes seeming to play AI ship moves while I'm still moving my guys. I presume this is something to do with fixing the bug that was often freezing the game after the first update took effect. Cheers, Jon
Hi again, Actually, of course, I was being very dozy and just had to go through the planet windows finding queued upgrades to megafactories and removing them. So not really a problem but confusing at the time. Cheers, Jon
Hi, I've been trying to stockpile Durantium so as to build a Manufacturing capital (it needs 10) and the total kept diminishing. Couldn't understand this till I realised that the planets have been queuing upgrades which use Durantium and then activating them when enough came on line. The solution, as of now, was to go through all of them deactivating auto-upgrade improvements which was a mild pain (wiht 29 at present). So please could Stardock, if possible, give
Hi, (Apologies, just realised that I originally posted in the parent directory GalCiv rather than Galciv3 itself.) After 180 odd turns (1st game in Crusade as Terrans) it's started freezing (happily the game not the whole computer). I thought I saw other posts re this after the first hot fix though I can't find them now. Are other people having thi
Hi, After 180 odd turns (1st game in Crusade as Terrans) it's started freezing (happily the game not the whole computer). I thought I saw other posts re this after the first hot fix though I can't find them now. Are other people having this problem and have they submitted tickets - otherwise I have a save and will do so. I tried to unstick through through cheat mode first by lifting fow and then attempting to soak but without success. Cheers, <
Hi, Are coordination centres another item that have been removed form Crusades? I've just researched Research Coordination in the Terran tree and Coordination centres haven't appeared as possible - nor have orbital institutes. So it this a tool tip issue or a bug? Many thanks, Cheers, Jon
Hi, A couple of things - apologies if I've missed them somewhere in here already. In Terran tech tree Beam Weapon Miniaturisation is one of the techs mispriced by a factor of 10 Again using Terrans (though v possibly widespread) after you've upgraded a hospital to a medical centre on a planet you get the option to build another hospital. Cheers, Jon &

Hi, I'm trying Crusades for the first time as the Terrans and researched Orbital Manufacturing long ago but don't seem to have Military Subsidies as an option in the planet screen (obviously for planets which are sponsoring a shipyard). Is this a bug or has some button for military subsidies been moved somewhere I haven't noticed it? Many thanks, Cheers Jon
This is an amazing expansion. It is more like a new game than an expansion. So much so that it seems that an option to play the old game would be appropriate. I assume that will not be possible without deleting the Crusade expansion. Hard to say what is the most appealing feature, but the civilization builder appeals to me greatly.
Yes it would be very nice to have the option to play either game since they d

Hi, I've just has a freeze with 2.0 which is repeatable from a save. I tried lifting fow and also soaking for a move which sometimes works but neither did and have just submitted a ticket. The build is 1581717 - and ticket # DZK-838-37641 Are other people experiencing this again? Cheers, Jon
