I've experienced similar odd behaviors with Start8 v1.41's app/program list. The start menu program list randomly changes. The only pattern is it seems like this sometimes happens when my laptop wakes up out of hibernation in Windows 8.1. It doesn't always happen, but when it does my program list is nothing like what it was before the laptop hibernated. I have v1.31 and it still happens. To reproduce simply open up a document using the Recent Items menu. After I close the document it appears in the Recent Programs list.

Same for me. Really annoying because programs that I use a lot are getting bumped off the Program List because recent documents show up on the list. Then I have to go clean it up and remove all the documents.
