Installed on my desktop just to see if the issue was isolated to my laptop. After doing so, it looks like on that machine the CPU usage ranges are much lower, but honestly still fairly high given what Decor8 is suppose to be doing. It is typically 3-6%, but can be as high as 10-13% on the machine. Given that machine is a Sandybridge 2600k, high usages won't be nearly as noticeable percent wise simply because there are physically more resources.

I'm not really sure why it would have not been 1.07 unless it failed to upgrade some of the files but not the configuration utility... Any case, I went ahead and made sure the entire folder was clobbered before re-installing it and sure enough the issue persists and indeed it is v1.07 issue. Although, I checked again, and it doesn't seem it was related to the Indexing Service after all. I suppose, that was a fluke on my part. <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/07i8nspu

There's some sort of defect in Decor8. Specifically, Decor8 1.07 causes high CPU usage in both Explorer.exe and COM Surrogate (32 bit) when Windows Search (the indexing service) is enabled. This ranges from 30-50% on a dual core machine so the assumption is that it is pegging a single core. If I remove Decor8 and restart explorer.exe the issue subsides. Subsequent boots won't exhibit the issue after that. Relevant system information: Win 8.1 x64.
