I have windows apps turned off, so I can't check this. But I am curious though. As a reference, I know that you can't just drag and drop "This PC" from your start menu into the dock. This doesn't mean it can't be done though. You create a blank icon, then change the address to reflect the location of "This PC" on your computer. So what i'm getting to is this: Is it possible that those apps would also have an address that would work if typed in manually? And again, I haven

I just found a post on a random forum stating that the .png file needs to be square, like 256x256 or 512x512. And I see that the 3 most recent .png files I tried were not square. So how do I adjust this? If I change it in mspaint, it will lose the transparency.

I've been digging around in the site, and it turns out that RedneckDude created a weather gadget that works well enough in objectdock. https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/desktop_gadgets/307/ Unzip it then put the folder into one of the icon folders in stardock. this has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with windows 10. period. as I stated, this has been the case all the way back to windows xp. some of the .png files I have found online have worked, but most do not. this is an issue of why random .png files do not work in ANY version of windows.

It's a desktop pc running windows 10 64bit. But as I said, this has been happening for years and years, all the way back to Windows XP days. FWIW, the icons I get from wincustomize all seem to work.

For years and years, when I look for new icons for objectdock, i'll find great .png files that just aren't recognized by ojbectdock. In other words, I put the .png file in the appropriate stardock folder, but when I go to change the icon for an objectdock shortcut, the .png file doesn't show up in that folder. To the people saying objectdock doesn't work on windows 10, could you be more specific about the problems you're having? I ask this because i've put objectdock 2.0 on a half dozen different windows 10 pro builds, as well as a laptop running windows 10 home. And I have not had one single problem. So I wonder if maybe this is conflicting software being ran by some of you, rather than objectdock not running on windows 10.

It seems to me that the problem lies in the last couple of software updates. I use version 2.0 and it has worked on at least a dozen Windows 10 installations with not even a single problem. This is windows pro and home on a desktop, and recently home on a laptop. At the very least, someone from support could check this out themselves so they could at least offer the advice for each thread like this that pops up.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro - version 1803, and Objectdock continues to work perfectly. I also should point out that i'm running the older Objectdock 2.0 as I never felt the need for the added features in the later builds. That being said, 2.0 has installed and ran properly for me over a dozen or more Windows 10 installations, both home and pro.

I'm aware of that software, but is the weather dock compatible with object dock? Because I have more than 10 years worth of icons that work on objectdock, and i'd hate to have to start all over again.

Even though the RSS feed and weather dock have stopped working, I still find objectdock to be hugely useful. It allows me to use a shortcut for any part of my computer, and I have over the years collected some wonderful icon sets that allow me to make it look pretty great, too. Oh, and version 2.0 works flawlessly in windows 10 home, as well as pro.

I still use an older version, 2.0 It has worked on every single Windows 10 home and Pro install i've tried (a dozen installations or so)

And I hate to say it, but at least in my area, Accuweather was horribly inaccurate. It was just awful! It probably averaged being off almost 5 degrees every day, and it got the chances of rain wrong more often than it got it right. Truth be told, I always hoped someone would code a docklet for a different weather site.

It's understandable that losing a dock can make the application seem less useful, but think of all the other shortcuts that you can load that will work just fine. I have EVERYTHING linked through it.
