I've been using Fences for at least a decade. Up until recently (I think it was when I finally went to Windows 10 20H2, I skipped 2004 and maybe 1909) desktop icons ALWAYS wrapped around a fence. New or existing. As soon as a program installed, the icon popped up to the right of the upper left fence and scooted everything else over, never under a fence and invisible which is definitely the case now. I had no icons or fences so my desktop looked blank after installing and restarting. I installed again and restarted again, and everything is working.
