Reluctantly I have to agree that Fences does have sub-standard quality control. I have experienced the overlapping of icons when there is multiple rows if icons in a fence and the issue of restoring the icon to a multiple desktop. I presume that Stardock is aware of these issues. I hesitate to acquire more of their software until these issues are resolved.

The solution is on the alt key issue is: If the ALT key brings up the fences when on the desktop and one wants to disable this behavior is to do an ALT + Tab. This will disable the ALT key from bringing up the Fences and likewise hitting the ALT + TAB again will re-enable the alt key .
Oops: The alternate key does bring up the hidden fences when on the desktop, but not when another window is open. I guess I will have to do more searching.
Thank you for the reply. I am using Windows 7 Professional and Windows 10 Professional. I went to the Desktop Pages Additional settings and cleared the check mark by: If hidden, unhide my desktop icons when switching Pages. This seem to do the trick. By the way I too am using dual monitors.
When I am on the desktop and I press the ALT key, all of the Fences are displayed, which I presume is the default setting. My question: Is there a was to change this default setting to another key of to disable it?
