This seems like a bit of an older thread though I wanted to add that I would imagine that demand for this feature will continue to rise, if not already relatively higher than average, as OLED monitors become more affordable over time. I like keeping the taskbar only an a second LCD based panel to reduce any possibility of static pixels remaining on my primary OLED monitor when I am not using it. I am aware that there is an auto-hide feature as well, though I've personally never liked
