I don't know if there is a way to access them later, unfortunately. I do own the 2012, 2016 and 2020 editions on Steam and disc copies of 2004 and 2008; the latter has been unplayable as long as I've bought it, which was over ten years ago. I agree with OP's desire to restore the interviews we had in previous versions alongside the new features. This is definitely the biggest "missing" feature in my mind in the new game as they are such a mainstay and still a part of campaign season.
