Oh boy here we go yet again. I'm astounded by people's inability to read or even understand the basics. Let me help. 1. The pricing model has been used for as long as Stardock has existed. Yes prices change. 2. Stardock is NOT every other company. Saying crap like would never charge me blabidy is moot. 3. All of this is spelled out quite clearly and has been for

"Does "permanent license" mean just Fences version 5? That is, when Fences 6 arrives, would I need another $30 permanent license?" Yes, It's exactly what it means. I paid for a "LIFETIME" license, which apparently means something else to Stardock, since they say it only applies for the current version. I have no idea if that clause was present when I purchased my lifetime license, but I agree that it's unacceptable. Especially since actual updates to any "major version" are fe

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but came here suffering from the same problem. The font in my fences looked fine, but the two portals I had to folders on my network were appearing with what looked like a black font with a greyish outline and at reduced opacity. Turning HDR off fixed it. Normal fences look like they work just fine with HDR, but Portal Fences do not.
Every time Fences has an update available its notification kicks me out of whatever I was doing. Today it cost me an online match, which as you can understand is infuriating. How do I disable the update notifications? Frankly unless there's some kind of major security bug I don't see any reason to ever update it. I've been through the Configure Fences menu but the option doesn't seem to be on any of the pages.
</p
Just updated: strange issue: every time I enable fences (using the enable button in the settings) I'm unable to move my desktop icons, scroll in a fence, make a new fence, scroll to a second desktop page,... I'm only able to right, left click on stuff. (windows 10 pro 64bit -- clean install of fences using revo uninstaller) Edit: If i disable fences using the same butto
I use Fences and love the organization it's allowed me. Even trying to convince my work place to invest in Fences and make it part of every work station's default setup. I'm a video game tester. The times I've tested it out at work to show my leads how easy it makes transferring files between computers and organizing files, I've always gotten a wowed response. With my recent upgrade to Fences 3, I've found the Folder Navigation through Fences very handy (+1 rea
I decided to re-organize my desktop a little, and was moving some fences around. Since I like my fences neat and evenly spaced, I was holding down shift to have more control over where they were placed. While holding shift I clicked and started to drag the first fence. Within a few seconds, the CPU usage of one of the cores jumped to 89-99% and dragging became extremely laggy and staggered. I'm on an I7 machine running Windows 7 64bit with 12gb RAM
