Chaps I was prompted for a Fences 4 update today. After install, Fences no longer functions: RMB on the desktop has an Enable Fences at the top, but it enables nothing. Have uninstalled and reinstalled from the My Downloads area, but same problem. What now?
I think I did have a typo in the email address when I activated it (not with the one in the purchase - I used Paypal, but it's the same address. Can I un/reinstall and reactivate using the same address?
No, is the answer :-) Odd that you don't validate it on activation. Ho hum, I'll raise a ticket

That rather depends on the nature of the bug - seen plenty of software that gets away with poor coding until underlying elements, including the OS, change in a way that should cause no issues.... Is version 3 officially out of support? If not, you should be addressing any fixes required to keep it running, regardless of whose 'fault' it is. In the couple of months since I started reading this forum - because my paid-for software is broken - I've seen a lot of whataboutery reg

W10. Are you saying that you won't be issuing a fix for v3 users, if the beta proves successful? That strikes me as pretty poor practice. I haven't been able to use software that I have paid for, for 2 months odd - because it is broken. And you won't even allow me to trial a fix that might get me back up and running??

I've just installed Fences 3, in response to reports it avoids the problem. It had the problem immediately after re-install. I also use three monitors and have been since long before the problem appeared. I did change them recently, although can't remember whether before or after seeing the problem. Two are full HD, as before, but the third has 4k resolution, whereas before was 2560x1440, hence I have enabled font scaling

I followed all the guidance at the top of this thread, unin / reinstalled and all was fine for a day. But rebooted this morning for other reasons and back to square one. I notice that the event viewer shows a whole bunch of these, starting from when I first saw the issue three days ago: Faulting application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 10.0.19041.1586, time stamp: 0xc1380384 Faulting module name: DesktopDock64.dll, version: 3.1.3.3, time stamp: 0

I see there has been some history on this.... I have just returned home after two days away, during which time my PC was off, rarely - it probably hasn't been shut down for more than a reboot for a year or so. And I'm getting that error - clicking to re-enable just causes more of the same. Have purged, reinstalled Fences 3 from my account etc - no dice. Nothing has chanaged that I am aware of. It's a personal machine, nothing beyond Malwarebytes o
