yes happened with previous versions, was fine for a while, then started having the problem. switching off windows defender fixes it, but i'd rather keep defender running. boot drive is an ssd so it should all be pretty fast. Where are start 8 contents stored? Maybe i could exclude that path in windows defender

same happening for me too. using v1.03 and no network drives . also while its blank and waiting for the contents to populate the "shut down" button says "ut dow" :/

still not working for me, first click of the start button its blank, takes about 30 seconds for the contents to appear. its the same with sub folders in all programs.

Yes getting the exact thing happening here too, only started today was working fine before and yes, stopping windows defender stops the long pausing
