You are right. The minimise button does minimise them all but the close button as you say, doesn't. Sorry.

Clipper 87 on April 26 attached a photo and there is no minimise, maximise or close button on his pictured tab bar but you seem to be telling me that there is a group of these that should be on mine. Has this changed since his post on April 26 because my top tab bar looks just like his. No minimise, maximise or close button on the top bar. The one on the next level down just controls what is open in Edge, not the other applications I have grouped.

Maybe I'm new to this but the only minimise button I can see is for the individual programs I have grouped, and when I click it that is what happens. Outlook gets minimised, or FileCenter gets minimised, or Edge gets minimised. Every other program in the group stays large. Am I looking in the wrong place? Also, how do I turn the group off?
