Thanks basj. The functionality of Start11 enhance taskbar is the main reason why I have bought and why I am using Start11. So disabling that defeats the purpose for me. I really need a fix to show the notifications while using the enhance taskbar feature set. Known issues While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows. TBD
I'll identify the trigger and get back to you. Do you have the power to give it priority and solve it or will a ticket be opened to the devs and it will be solved in years? Quoting atomic_cattleprod, reply 66 License enforcement, while important, provides no value to the end user, so when it breaks, it is particularly irritating. Point taken. That said, reactivation is no more complicated than the initial one, and ours is pretty standard. What you seem to be saying is that when something
1) If a product shows no valid license as being active, have it ping your activation server to check for a valid license before disabling itself or prompting the user to re-activate. As part of this, we should be able to save our Stardock credentials securely in the system so that this activation request can happen transparently in the background and not interrupt our workflow. 2) Update your licensing database and your a
It happens randomly. Sometimes 3 times a day, sometimes once every two days, so clean boot is not an option.
Wake up. Please. Thanks.
While it has indeed been reported over the years, it is not at all common; in fact, it's extremely rare. Also, we have never been able to reproduce it. Lastly, there could be countless reasons it could be occurring, the most obvious is that you have Windows settings or 3rd party product (like DisplayFusion or other desktop altering software) that is altering how (well) Fences
I will try that out to see if that works, however, the other problem I'm running into (that I have to periodically keep re-activating my licenses) makes this a pretty annoying solution. I know my Stardock password off by heart, I don't know my license keys, so doing it the way you suggest means I'll have to keep logging into the site to get the keys whenever the products deactivate themselves. I would prefer if the activation system

We can see how this could be an issue for activating post install, but not the install itself - there is nothing the installer is doing that needs to reach out to the internet - if it did need to, we would be in trouble as plenty of business clients install in VPN \ internet isolated environments.
Thanks for the guidance. For reasons I cannot understand, the Start11 service simply did not exist. I went through another uninstall and reinstall of Start11, and this process still didn't create the service. Since the executable for the service did exist, I ended up manually creating the service via PowerShell - that was the only solution. I'm really not sure why this happened. As I said, I've used Start11 for a couple of years.
