As the title denotes, the technology currently being researched should only change if a new one is actually selected. It is far too easy for the user to accidentally change what is being researched just by flipping pages while browsing through the Govern menus. In the following picture, note that the technology currently being researched is Mining (1): For some reason, I have made habit of thinking

User interface is in the eye of the designer; whose responsibility is to ensure that it not only displays the necessary information, but also that it elegantly captures the audience by providing access to the right information at the right times. In the context of video games, the user interface needs to direct the end user through the game play intended by the dev

Honestly, the user interface does not represent the game's mechanics very well at all; which is a pity because the game itself is brilliant. Unfortunately, I believe this will be the number one issue amongst reviewers; and that at least a few weeks repairing the UI from the perspective of a new player are needed for the game to be truly launch worthy. You only get one first impression, and this is Elemental's second. It's scary how much potential this game has.

I see little reason to limit Fallen Enchantress to the classification of a 4x game. How long must we live in the shadow of Mr. Meier, and MOO? This is a genre defining game, containing elements of 4x strategy, role playing, tactics, and creative suite. The prospective market for FE is much larger than just players of 4x strategy games, especially with all the customization available.

Fallen Enchantress is already so much more than just a 4x game; with potentially a much larger target demographic. For just one example, it is also blatantly a RPG. As we see, in-depth tactical battles are a natural extension of this game's underlying mechanics. Like it or not, you have the Heroes of Might and Magic killer on your hands. The fate of the world already rests on the tactical skill of the player as they maneuver strategic terrain, especially if the

Why should I bother painstakingly reaching level 5 in a city when what I can do is have 5 level 1 (or 1 level 3 and one level 2, more realistically) cities? Boy am I glad we have an external tester willing to do this, thank you! I too am looking forward to actually relaxing back with the game as a player after launch, and there are certainly others here who share the sentiment. I'm quite excited for the Workshop myself. This is a wonderful beta community though, and I will miss it.
