You can see what apps are included if you go here https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products and click on "View Individual Downloads" below the Object Desktop tab. If you just bought it, it is not included. Edit: As of today, these apps are currently included in Object Desktop: Groupy 2 Deskscapes 11 Start
That's usually an adblocker or browser security addon. What you can do is try another browser or open a private/incognito window/tab and see if that solves your issue.

I believe there is not, using Start 11. Windowblinds on the other hand can change that, provided you find a skin to your liking.
If I understand you right, I think this is normal. If you want to adjust transparency settings for a windowblinds skin, you have to do it in the settings for the wb skin itself here:
