quick update from my previous post last month. i found the SPECIFIC PROCESSES that was messing up cursorfx. it wasn't none of the bloatware. it was cypress trackpad (CyCpIo.exe & CyHidWin.exe). I think those are for the touchpad. However the touchpad still works with them closed. Just open up task manager and end the processes. Then go to msconfig and disable them from startup. I'm on Win-7 x64. I got rid of "My Dell Support Center" and bunch of other backup related bloatware that was pre-installed on my notebook and CursorFX no longer disappeared or went back the default cursor. If you have any junk software that prevents certain system settings form being changed close it with task manager or uninstall it all together.
