I have a Microsoft wireless mouse. It has a scroll wheel, however after experimenting with it today, clicking the scroll wheel does not get interpreted as Mouse-3. Also running the game on low, does alleviate the freeze screens somewhat. I was able to play smoothly for 2 hours last night before it froze. I got about 30 minutes today before it happened again.
