I've just installed the trial version of Fences 4. The first thing I tried was to place an icon anywhere within the Fence. It moved itself back to the others! Where is v4 different to v3? I will not be upgrading!
I do wonder if there ever will be a version 4, however the only two things that would make it perfect: put icons everywhere (and they stay!), and a fence that can have a transparent background with a solid border. I'm not holding my breath!
I've just bought Fences as I'd played with the demo version and thought it would help keep my desktop the way I want it. Wrong! Who thought it was a good idea NOT to be able to switch OFF auto-arrange within the Fence? That person needs sacking! This is a huge mistake! I was under the impression that Fences allowed us to arrange the desktop the way we want, not the Microsoft way! And while you're fixing that I'd also like to suggest another improvement.
