The huge post he made a few days later (I assume you mean this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=405192) has everything to do with the game. He explains why he's not impressed with Civ5. How is that different to the hundred other threads by other people doing exactly the same thing? Why does that thread deserve a warning and be closed? Thormodr appears to actually have valid reasons

I've not been banned at civfanatics. It is strictly 2k forums, but I receive non stop warnings there if I post anything dissenting about the game. I also posted a screen shot of getting a warning there just for asking him a question. To be honest the only reason he ever admitted to it is that I hog tied him and had him on the ground with screen shots of everything. I was just putting the final touches on his legs when the Civfanatics mods ran to his aid. A few days later he had to make a
Holy shit. 2k has no issues employing lunatics and fanboys and people blame Jon Shaffer? That reminds me of the UT 3 fiasco only 100 times worse.
Yes, I think that is a very accurate statement. "2k has no issues employing lunatics and fanboys and people blame Jon Shaffer." Due to their complete lack of caring or addressing issues he has gotten 99.9% of the blame.
Diplomacy AI is actually deeper than in civ4, you simply did not see all of it (by design); That changed. Now people say it's "insane" as the AI plays to win rather than roleplay; That doesn't make it broken, just different. For better or worse. The economic AI is flawed how, exactly?
The AI behavior was completely irrational and provided no feedback. I'd argue with you about this but they have tried sev

Jon Shafer - The way it works at Firaxis is that there is a designer, and he is also the gameplay programmer who programs all the gameplay rules, and he also programs all the AI. Jon Shafer - Our teams are getting bigger now, so on Civilization V I didn’t program all the AI. Only about half. Jon Shafer - We had a combat programmer doing combat AI, and a programmer doing the AI for the workers and explorers, but I programmed all the game rules and the diplomatic and

What pissed me off is I had plenty of legit posts but they trashed them. I found plenty of bugs as you can see above. My buddy had a legit problem with no internet connection. He bought it at the store not realizing it required you to be online. The previous versions didn't. Anyways, he calls me on the phone pissed because he just spent $100+ dollars to hook it up, $50 on the game, and he says, "WTF is this thing downloading that is 6 f'ing gigs. Why the @#$% did you tell me to buy this @#$%
Dale is absolutely brutal. I cannot fathom how he can moderate or help run the We play civ forums the way he carries on on the Civ fanatics forums and the 2K Forums. He certainly has a hate on for Stardock and loves taking jabs at Brad, Kael, Sullla and other extremely talented people. He also says ciV is basically bug free and calls people that have problems with bugs "liars" or worse. Personally, I think he has severe emoti

I don't see how Civ fanboyz couldn't be the worst. They are backed by 2k which I believe stacks the deck using shills. These people are there 24-7 to post immediately if you post a dissenting remark. Most aspire to work there, are beta testers, or other types of coders. I found one guy who was actually a beta tester there. His name is Dale. He can say whatever he wants to you in response to your post, but when you reply back even briefly it is trolling. Pretty much any type of dissent is

I hate Civilization 5 as do my friends that I play Civ IV BTS with. This hatred has sent me on a search for a replacement. Civ was always the default game that I'd turn to when I was bored. I do blame everything on Jon Shafer, because that's the only name that I know. I couldn't help but notice the CEO post here and even throw a jab at another. I really like that this is my kind of place. I'll buy this game next paycheck. p.s. Please make Jon Shafer post here and
