I think if they just set it the basic vowel-consonant-vowel-consonant system it woudl be much better than what we have. Having a prerendered list may be moot point as folks can add their own names easily if they want their "cockvilles", "phallusbergs" and "wangtons". RAT

Well, in the situation you hero attacks for 5 points then gets reamed on 10x counter attacks of 3 pts each.

I have played five games up to this point and reserached mounted warfare, but I am yet to se emounted units in play by either myself or any of the AI powers. I do know you need to find a stable or den resource but despite scouring the maps I havent seen any. Besides mounted warfare, is there some sort of additional tech they require to be "seen" or is this a bug? RAT

Well it is a random name in every sense. One thing I do find funny is they randomize the world names. Why? There are only a fixed number of maps anyways. Now if they actually made truly ramdom maps it would make more sense. RAT

Has anyone confirmed (from stardock) whether or not the unlimited rings, packs, amulates is an intended feature or not? I would hypothize that most players are not even aware of this, and consequently just adding 1 or 2 items as per the expected usual RPG mechanics. RAT

I like the idea of specialized chmapions as farmers, mages, reserchers, treasure hunters and other professions that would level up in time other than just raw combat ability. Indeed a master trader, after 200 turns of service would get a lot better in handling your finances over time to become an accounting wiz or that farmer could develope new crop rotatiosn that increase food/ore/research over time, given approprite opprotunities to level up. It's your jobb to make something good out of them, and making sure they are leveling up. It's so easy to win early battles already, so I don't see the prob. With some research investment you can also recruit better champions over time. [/quote] You are missing the point - folks are NOT complaining about weak

Excellent post! I would also agree with the issues presnted here. 1) Yes heroes/champ/so are really weak after the early game. I am surprised that quest rewards are so meh; i woul dhav ethought rare/magical items would "drops" for the heroes making them special. As folks have pointed out peasants are more powerful.I love th eidea of special skills/advancements for heroes and perhaps tactical skills (more tactical movement, terrain use, longer ranges, better vs. certain monster

They are indeed very weak. I equipped a champion with exactly the same gear as my sovereign (both lvl 1) and my champs get one shotted whereas my sov survives a LOT longer in a battle. In counter point champ actually start with weapons but your sovereign does NOT?? I wonder ho wmany folks had their sov cowering in fear [e digicons]8(|[/e] RAT

1) just click on the characters little portrait above the UI section (at screen bottom) when you have the tile selected and them move them to the new square. You can seperate entire groups this way with shift-+click. 2) No clue, But Red I think mean units. I am unsure about the blues. /wild guess

Funny Bug ( I think). I had my sovereign run out of mana. I put her into a city and checked a few turns later - her mana wasnt regenrating. BUt I still had her selected when I clicked next turn .. and viola! the mana bar went up. However I agree mana regen needs to be improved spending 1 turn to get one mana in early-mid game is atrocious - even when beeilining in the magic tech tree. RAT
