The same issue is happening with the DesktopX Weather Widgets. I have been using the Encounter Weather DesktopX Pro widget for years on my Windows 7 PC. It stopped working for me on Aug 29th. Apparently, AccuWeather has changed something with their subscription and the Stardock widgets were all getting the weather data using the same account. Is there a way for personal accounts to be created and used? Or are we just out of luck? Any advice or help here? Thanks -E-

I have been running the "Encounter Weather, version 1.0, by Stardock Design" on my Windows 7 PC for years. Today, I got a message that it "Can't reach Accuweather". Does anyone know if Accuweather changed their Web Service or their security policy to no longer allow weather widgets made for DesktopX to retrieve data? I know that years ago there was a huge complaint from weather information companies that prevented several Stardock objects and widgets from using their servers. Maybe Ac

FOUND IT!!! Even easier - there is an option in Fences that reads "Preserve my desktop layout by storing my Fences' positions on a per-screen-resolution basis". That does exactly what I needed. Sometimes you don't think of the answer until you ask the question. ~~Einy

WOW!!! Now it is MUCH WORSE - I have just tried to reapply the WB theme, and my Portal Fences are just flashing and I can't get to any of my other fences. This is NOT GOOD. What is going on here?

Maybe I spoke too soon. No, Zubaz is still a genius. But I have been having very odd issues with Fences lately. 1) Scrollbars don't fade away when I mouse off the fence area. This behavior seems to be related to making the fence area border visible. 2) Icons are being hidden. This is where the changing sizes of the icons helped before, but now I see that it is back again without my changing the sizes of the icons (CTRL+scroll wheel). I have a fence that is 1x4

Interesting - this was a problem with Fences on Win XP. There was some issue with the API calls that wouldn't allow Fences and XP to share the wallpaper control. This went away in Win-7, but seems like it is back in Win-8. Does Win-8 use WinXP API's? Maybe that is what the developers will say this time too. Maybe? Even with this limitation, I can't live without Fences on my PCs. Sometimes you need to take the bad with the good. --Einy

Hey guys, I was a Window Blinds customer for years, but then my discretionary income and PC started having issues, so I had to choose and it was my Object Desktop subscription that was on the bad side of the coin flip. That was over 2 years ago. I now have a newer PC (not state of the art by any means, but better than my last PC), and I want to install my applications from the Impulse/Backup files. I see that Impulse is now no longer a Stardock product. I installed it, and I d

This is not due to a HD reformat. I am loading from the archive because my subscription expired and I can't install it the "normal" way. I did try the system restore early on - but it happened way back in February and I don't have that many restore points (I reduced the number of restores to "save" space, at the time I didn't think I would need to go back 2 months for anything). Long story short - the system restore didn't work. When I tried it Windows said that the re

No - it is 32-bit. I didn't even know that 64-bit XP was a possibility. I tried a completely clean uninstall (uninstall, clean the registry, clean the WindowBlinds folders, etc.) and then re-install by using the "Restore from Archive" option. (it stinks having your subscription run out and you don't have the $35 to renew). That looked promising. Impulse asked me to reboot and everything. However, the same result. I can get the "SevenConfig.exe" window, but trying to appl
^ You can unify your accounts here: https://www.stardock.com/support/registrations/
Well - not exactly. You see for some reason both of my accounts are using the same email address. Go figure. So I think I'll just need to remember to only use my older account. But back to my problem. Is there a difference between restoring from archive and doing just an install (other than the restore is supposed to be available after the subscription expires?) I'm concerned t

With Win2K - you need to use a combination of WindowBlinds and ObjectBar to get the XP look of taskbar skinning. It isn't perfect, but it is a lot better than the default Win2K offering. (IMHO)

Hey all, I just got a new PC at work running WinXP (the government is always one step behind), but I have a number of apps where skinning the scrollbars is problematic. The "Per Application - Feature Disabling" feature worked just fine on Win2000 (WB4), but there seems to be a problem with WB5 and the "Feature Disabling" feature. Am I just missing something, or is this a known issue? Here is my System Info: Microsoft Windows XP: Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254

Hey, Adam. Just wanted to 1) test these new forums, and 2) see how you've been. It seems ages since we have chatted. Hope the wife and kids are good. Hugs from me. Tell me, will SkinStudio be able to edit all the new features in WindowBlinds and ObjectBar? I'm thinking I'll need to come up with a new Tutorial someday. Hope this post - later, Einstein
