How about a simple toggle that turns randomized tech trees on and off. Because me, I love being forced to work with what I'm given. I want to be able to research caltrops in one game and slaughter an entire mounted army. I want to come up against a mounted army in a different game without caltrops and say, "damn, caltrops would have been really helpful. Oh well, this time I'll use (insert unique tech for that game)".
<

Meh, better to not have everything availible as it increases replay value. I agree; however, what I proposed was that all technologies just be available in a single game, not that you research all of them in a single game. This way you have a choice without technologies being restricted for a whole game for no other reason than a roll of the proverbial dice. The dev team could implement my suggestion in such a way that technologies could be tied to
My concern with the randomized tech system currently, is that the "randomization" seems like an artificial way to present choice, and non-linearity. I fear that starting off with all of your faction's intrinsic techs, and the randomized techs already known to you, will seem too regimented to the player. This, to me, has always seemed to be an occurrence solely contained within the realm of games. As you well know, research in real life is not based on the
I probably won't receive a straight answer; however, I just wanted to ask (perhaps for the sake of posterity as well as to satisfy my own curiosity) will the ZPM Hive Ship be making an appearance as a late game super capital for the Wraith in the full release? I set out to look for an answer to this question, and ironically the first random page number I typed in (36) had the answer right at the beginning of the comments. Another quick question is: will Wraith units have stronger armo
I think you should pull your head out of that pool there, Narcis- uh, I mean Stant.
If I want to play another mod with this activated, in what order do I stack them? Nevermind, I found a helpful post.
The second suggestion worked worked for me, but the mod still creates a minidump when enabled. But in any case, thanks for the help.
Hello I'm trying to change my graphics settings from Highest to just High, so that I might fix a problem regarding mods. However, when I change the settings and restart the game to ensure that the effects have saved, they have reverted back to the original Highest settings. I would very much appreciate help as this is becoming increasingly frustrating.
Any suggestions?
Core i7 @ 2.7GHz 12 gigs of RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 DirectX 10 Windows Vista 64-bit I am using the Entrenchment expansion. The mods are: Sins of the 13th Tribe, Sins of a Galactic Empire, Star Wars Requiem, and a mod to raise the fleet capacity and cap ship capacity by a small amount. I have all of the latest updates for the actual games, and the mods as well. If the issue stems from the graphics settings being on Highest, then
Hello all, I have a problem with freezing and crashing due to mods. I have experienced these crashes on multiple versions of multiple mods, but now it has gotten to a point where the game is relatively unplayable. In the past, the crashes only occured after about an hour and a half to two hours of playing. Wasn't that frustrating as I like to play at a slow pace and save regularly. However, when updated v
