Sometimes some windows show a lack of minimize/maximize/exit buttons in the right-up corner of the window frame. Here is an example: while it should look like this:

Btw, I have checked PuTTY window styles. Yes, it has the same problematic combination: WS_CAPTION and WS_VSCROLL. So this is indeed the same issue as with TC. How it could happen that I have even 2 applications with this problem if it is so rare :)?
we have to target our resources to where they would do most good
That's exactly the point I tried to convey. That fixing TC will bring you good regardless of the reported issues. Since the popularity of TC doesn't correlate with the number of issues about it that have been reported to you. Number of issues reported is hardly an argument :). It is a well known fact that reporting issues to your tech support most time is a complete waste of time. A usual answer from them is to check installation and then silence. Many people in my immediate environment use Total Commander and when I talk with them about WindowBlinds, their usual answer: “Ah... that glitchy like hell program? I tried it once several years ago and threw it way terribly dissatisfied”. Obviously, they hav
It is written in Delphi. So probably there are a plenty of applications using the same combination of window styles and it is not so rare as you think. After all, you can see that the right window border disappears in putty too. Putty is not written in Delphi, so the issue, if it is connected, is hardly due to Delphi itself. Putty has its source code published, so you can investigate it down to the underworld. Btw, the lister in TC has the following window styles: WS_CA
Wow... I am very pleased to hear this as well. How about the scroll bar in the Total Commander viewer (https://forums.stardock.com/377169) now? I am guessing that the issue with putty and with TC's scrollbar are somehow related maybe.
Do you have any other software running which might impact window positioning?
No. And the problems are strictly dependent on WindowBlinds: turn on skinning means there is a problem, turn off skinning, there is no problem. I think the culprit is pretty obvious.
The problem has been solved by rolling back WindowBlinds to version: WindowBlinds 7.1 (build 273 - Windows 7 Edition). So I'm happy again...
I have a build 297. Works fine with IE8 (I don't use it anyway though).
Yes, you are right. I easily was able to reproduced the bug without WindowBlinds at all.
In many applications WindowBlinds distorts colors of icons and paletted bitmaps. They look very weird as the result. For example look at CPU-Z screen and CPU picture at the top-right corner: Below is how this bitmap looks like without WindowBlinds: <img src="http://pix.academ.org/img/2010/12/04/618f2b95b87f3af852455b996a4f8eed.jpg" alt="" width="93" h
No? What's this then?
Heh-heh :). This is just a copy of Windows\SysWOW64. Windows substitutes it for 32-bit applications, since in the real System32 are 64-bit executable modules, not exactly what a 32-bit application would expect to load in its address space.
These particular three are from TortoiseProc.exe, a part of TortoiseSVN. But I met such oddities in other applications. I promise to publish them here, if I meet more.
This make me think it's likely an issue with TC and not Windowblinds.
I don't understand this. An application works fine without WindowBlinds. It means this application has no issues.
Ghisler wrote TC in Borland and it's not likely that TC will ever have a native 64 bit app (without a complete rewrite). I'd suggest you look at Dopus. But what's the point? This is the application I use and thus see most often. I actually would prefer it be skinned. But I have to stick with the unskinned version instead because of this bug. Btw, I already have 5 application excluded from skinning.
9 months have passed. The bug is still there.
