By the way, the game I played tonight, I built a starbase fairly early and immediately put culture on it...forced the vasari player to put 4 culture facilities on his nearby ice world...I must say that the culture from the SB helped me greatly...allowed for a trade port on a nearby asteroid, and he told me my culture forced him to scuttle a research facility and trade port on one of his asteroids...he tried to attack it early with a kortul, skirantra, and assailants, but my fleet and s
But anyway, I would really like to know why developers nowadays don't ship their games as x64. Most games I play (CoH, SupCom, Sins, Oblivion) have issues with their memory usage which could be solved by making them x64. They even could "just" deliver a x64-patch like Crytek did for Far Cry. But well, they'll have their reasons...
If they support 32 bit systems they get bigger consumer pools than if they support only 64bit. I think this is main reason.</p
Pbhead As promised I post my reply. Sorry it took so long that u had to nudge me. I wonder why [e digicons]>_>[/e] but here is a game in which ships on vas side other than assailants played much bigger role. Teams were stacked but for a period we had no attack agreement. True i was building counters to grehs' fleet but why did
I always play on faster ..... fast is too slow 4 me it feels like it takes ages for things to be done. Before when I said fast I really meant faster.
Yeah that reply was wrong one. LOL That was me on one of Dirty Sanchez maps doing 5v5 Cruel AI. Sometimes when there is no one on ICO I play 5v5 (all cruel or vicious). Anyway here is the one i wanted to upload in first place and description that goes with it. Even though my starting position was handicapped (no trade line) I managed to get 152 cred ps in 4
Impressive replay, especially considering you had to defend yourself on that 2nd desert world while playing eco... I'm not trying to detract from your performance at all, but you did end at 40 minutes with a Vasari envoy at every single one of your planets
I guess i need to watch my own reply ....... I think I posted wrong one..... Will let u guys know
Since i don't play on normal speeds and with no quick start on I made my own reply. Even though my starting position was handicapped (no trade line) I managed to get 152 cred ps in 41 min. Game was 5v5 random map with easy AI not to disturb my expansion since in eco position you are most likely not to be disturbed. I played tec and colonized as many planets as you would probably colonize if you are in eco position. Until I got trade line of 4 planets my eco was going slo
IMO you really don't want to backtrack with your colonizer ships so you colonize as you go. If you can choose and colonize roids/terrans/deserts without skipping planets and without backtracking with your colonizer by all means that is much better way to do it, but its rare that you get a string of planets like that. Another thing is if you gave 3 ice in a string don't research vulcan colonization until you need it.... And as i said it all depends on map you are playing. Good
If you have desert/terran/asteroids around you to where you can hold off on colonization techs, then you are better off investing in civilian infrastructure and researching LRFs so you can do a good rush...the more desert/terrans you have, the more you'd want to research population upgrades...again, not trade...
We are talking about econ position which means you do not build mil labs and you don't purchase fleet supply beyon
To Seleuceia It all depends on situation and map you are playing on. If you got good planets rushing trade + upgrading (researching) planet is best. If you got neutrals resource upgrade is better. As advent culture is very important since is tier 2. There really isn't universal situation IMO. But I do think that as TEC you should rush trade and envoys (with donation upgrade) ASAP. TEC have some great pacts and envoy capabilities. As advent given tha
Oh LOL Thanks for correcting me.
I am pretty sure ClickClackBoom was DT StarPlayer.
It really doesn't go into this thread but CCB is not star. I thought that as well but a few days ago they were both in one of games i played so NO hes not. And BTW Jammie is DT smurf (well not really sure but he was in game DT vs rest - on DT side) but for some reason his performance from game to game varies a lot.
I thought collectors edition include all expansions. Sort of beefed up trinity. Now i see I was wrong. You do not have to have expansions to play latest SOASE. last version is 1.91 (If i'm not mistaken) SOASE Entrenchment expansion adds star bases into game play. Latest ver is 1.51 SOASE Diplomacy has what Entrenchment has with addition of envoys and pacts. In order to play Diplomacy you need to have Entrenchment as well. Latest ver is 1.11 Impuls
When u load game on main screen u should have ver number in one of the corners. Another option is to install impulse register game and it will let u know which ver u got and when update is available. Note: In order to play SINS you do NOT need impulse running in background. So u can use it as a update option only. Actually u cannot update game without impulse.
And another thing. I'we got a feeling that what really bothers your guys is Warfleet ego and that he said that he is best advent eco player. Thats why you are dissecting every thing he says or do.... It all depends on situation and what you do with it... and sometimes you have bad day... Just yesterday i played 5s. 3skilled on each team. It was worst game i played recently. I knew i had one guy to attack but I went 2 civ labs first anyway. Sadly for me guy I had to kill
Lets play your scenario that CCB wasn't feed. CCB would be doubled and since he had no 2 nd planet he would have died in 20 min max I think longest would have been alive is 15 min in truth. Perhaps he would be able to get colony out perhaps not but he is out of the game, Now aqua and Jonny are free to do whatever they want. Jonny takes fight to Kfear who without massive feed (which in my opinion would have been wasted) doesn't stand a chance. Aqua is free agent and that enables him to
Roujheh goes full eco while you focus on building up economy and expanding...Warfleet amasses a large force, and with Roujheh as assist, wipes out Jamie hard and fast....CCBoom does what he already was doing, and Kfear hits Johnny just like he was already doing...once Jammie is wiped out, all the resources from Roujheh and Warfleet go to you and Kfear...
Rouhjheh was/is a noob that doesnt know how to eco and since he goes eco it doesn't matter because he doesn't know ho
Sorry, double post...forums here keep freezing up on me and I can never tell if I've posted or not....
Actually its triple post [e digicons];P[/e] [e digicons]O:)[/e]
You guys do realize that in game you are analizeing Warfleet dropped in 37 min of the game. And that i was fighting noob player. NME is better but I would rate him.... Now when I watched reply i did realize that i made tactical error. My first error was that I wasn't scouting NME properly and If i did I would rather attack him than DaKnife. Put Sb against DaKnife and go for NME. 2nd error or strategic option was to go eco once they were abble to held me back. Regarding a
What I'm arguing is that you can get better returns by putting that money into disciples to quickly colonize more planets than you would if you put that money into trade ports.
That's what I meant when I said initial fleet (get some scouts and fill your fleet points with disciples. Spamming scouts is good too since they are best against LRMs and Siege and they are cheaper - only ships you really need to kill before moving out to next planet. You can kill rest with 1 or
Hmmm One thing first I'm definitely not best payer out there and on random maps you need to be able to adapt. True I have no problems getting into skilled games but I can line up at least 10 different players that I loose in fight against in 9 out of 10 games. And SB Warfleet is one of them. 9 out of 10 times when we are in direct conflict if i don't get good and early feed there is high chance he will beat me. Now another thing. I'we seen a lot of skilled player
There are a few situations where you can get away with taking this risk, but if your opponent has had more than a minute or two of setup time you don't take that risk.
My point exactly But i did say he was noob. So another chance 4 him to learn
I've had several games where we've won even after our eco has been taken out, but usually that involves very strong players on the front-lines. In one really fun game, our eco player manage
The thing in SINS is that you must not rely only on one strategy and if you are not scouting (at least against skilled player) you are probably going to loose. You need to be able to see where enemy fleet is and what it consist of so you are able to respond. I find out that most new players make that mistake. Just yesterday i was in fighting role. Me and my opponent were contesting for a ice planet. I must say he was noob. I had 2 carriers which at start were fighting against 1 of his
Tell me Is it worth loosing half or whole fleet to take out one sb since once you loose fleet you will need massive feed and your planets are wide open to enemy counter attack.
