Just a small *shmoopy* thank you to all of the citizens who log on and give their help and critiques and compliments. I've been kinda sad lately but it's amazing how just one positive voice can make a difference to another human being...and that is pretty damned wonderful iffin' I do say so myself. I thank my fellow skinners and artists too...your words really hit home because you can understand what it 'takes' much better than anyone else. ((HUGS)) Some *shmoopy* advi

--hehe just noticed the 'month' date on your original post here. Guess GD is giving you a reminder and it escaped a few of us gals. -My oh my! I guess I really *am* blind er blonde! Glad this post is old btw.
I don't blame you Dark. I'm getting my life back in proper order too. At least you care enough to know what matters most to you before it's too late. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0
Boxxi... One of the most genuine and kind people on planet earth.
Geez...I'm behind today...taking care of post-op kitty cat... Yes, Fuzzy is right on the money. I don't know what happened but I uploaded the file as a .zip so maybe an admin changed the extension to .wba thinking I'd goofed perhaps? Ah well...all is well that ends well. Thank you for helping fuzzy! *CHOCOLATE SMOOCH* <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" bord
Ph00ey got in a car accident and is okay but he's out of commission for a bit so it's kind of you to keep his thread going.
Thank you for your help, MadIce All of my images are different from the originals so I'll try that the next time but I'll be sure to name all of my images differently from the beginning so it will be easier to manage...for now it would be a lot of renaming and code-editing and I've already spent enough time on this skin which is so funky I don't know why I took so much time to make it. <img src="ht
This has a 30-day free trial... http://www.iolo.com/ss/
Before I nodd off... My for instance is... What if my skin is titled: "Pooky bear" and I put a folder named PookyBear2 within the main folder titled "Pooky bear2" within it... something like: [SkinStyles] Number=2 [SkinStyle0] Name=Pooky Bear Skin=PookyBear.uis [SkinStyle1] Name=Pooky Bear2 Skin=/pookyBear2/pookybear2.sss I will give an lame example of what I'm trying to say... Could I do something like this?<
Hmm. I just looked at the code in Mike B's Avenger folder and noted that all of his skins with the 'alternate' color were named differently i.e. the word 'dark' prefaced each word for that specific image that was different. So...since I don't wanna rename every file that is in my other skin-color's folder...is there a way to put the alternate skin folder within the folder and specify the path to that folder in the code you mentioned? I know for certain I can't put my files with my curre
P.S. Your advice was great and I may brave implementing it even in this upload...I just have a dreadful lack of faith in myself until I finally 'get it'.
WOW...great tips Koasati and Madice... Madice...the code is more helpful than the skinstudio bits anyhoo I think. For now I'll just zip them together methinks until I'm confident I can pull that whopper off. I still need to learn the code for applying wallpaper and custom fonts too... For now I'm still in itty bitty basic mode. *yawn* MadIce you're not full awake? I am not fully asleep yet. hehe <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
Hmm. Shmoopy make up your own mind...it's not rocket science. Okay, self...I concede...you know best.
Jeez...I just read that and realized I made no sense. I guess I'm trying to say:...Is it best to upload skins that are basically colored kissin' cousins as separate or put them up as a unit? I feel that uploading them as separate when the only things changed are the colors and a few minor image changes seems...well...tacky. Am I wrong?
I really want to upload my skins as a twin-set but that will mean I will have to .zip them up in one big old zip file which means that people applying skins directly from skinstudio/browser may not be able to utilize that...? Then there is the larger file for people to download and me being on a lousy 56k-n-pray connection knows all to well how much time it takes to download something... My heart says...just up them together cuz I'd feel like I was being cheesy to make them separate...y
Jafo was being very decent and level-headed considering he could have publicly humiliated someone and more than likely with good cause but he probably saw the stupidity in the request and gave the 'person' the benefit of the doubt. I have to agree with GM...most 'folk' who are impoverished are not apt to have a computer or can afford an internet connection and 'warez' as well as 'trading programs on the sly' is very much like a teenager who can get by with stealing at the local grocery
I've only had computers for the last six years...I guess I really am a newbie! Well, having no undo for stuff other than the coding is not the end of the world...I'm already used to making back-ups and SS is a great program especially because I prefer being able to see the visuals ...especially being abl
If only 'undo' worked for my life.
<img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.
What a fun and descriptive story, IP...I almost feel there on your family vacation...only...I'm the one sitting in the room with a laptop ordering room service! Bad: Walking on the beach and dreaming of your computer... Good: On your computer dreaming of the beach...hehe
And to double this problem...some skin changes can't be seen for some reason (fully) until 'applied' and therefore you are kinda stuck with what you just did unless you made a back-up...so it's a bit of hit and miss as it were.
A_67...I find this issue even when doing minor margin changes...no undo. At first, this set major panic in my heart and then I learned to work with and around it but still...it would be a nice feature if it were fully enabled.
Koasati, I dunno of you're teasing me or being serious but since I never used the previous versions of SS before I dunno for sure...all I know is that the menu/edit/undo doesn't seem to work for much but the code changes...from what I've experienced so far anyway and I'm in NO WAY a pro.
Now I'm being a hypocrite...when I called myself darkseraphim everyone said, "Why call yourself a dark angel when you're so..." And look at me now...I'm a shmoopy!
Dark...you should call yourself light mist...always so positive.
