Well I'm on the side that AoW:Sm wasn't that great. Speaking from the version that went retail and not all the mods that are required to possibly make it into a better game. The fact is out of the chute AoW:Sm was craptola and I was teed I wasted money on it. Then that community got involved and ruined even more of it that I was trying to enjoy. Took away flying from Wraiths! How ridiculous. The community was more concerned about making the game balanced for multiplayer than they were

Who the heck are they cheating by reloading? If someone wants to reload a game for whatever reason then that's their call... no-one is playing their game but them. It's a rather derogatory term that I don't personally think is nece
Maybe some sort of accuracy penalty could be applied while a unit is Dazed, or the ability to hit someone else (but that may not be possible with a retaliation, I don't know).
Yes this would be the way to program it but not make it "impossible" to retaliate.
I don't reload, unless I get a dud starting area (or the game crashes ).
Cheating is still cheating no matter what the excuse unless it is a crash and that is IF it is a crash and not just an excuse.
This should work as is on higher difficulties. Nice extra feature an ability for the ai on say Hard difficulty and above.
I'm for a unit being able to retaliate when dazed. It just makes sense like in real life. Haven't you ever seen a kid kicking and screaming when dazed by his parents and he's on the floor? lol Also, Dazed is dazed there's no mechanic separating it from the real world that's just plain stupidity to think it is.
