I have deskscape installed, when i go to personalize/backgrounds and try to setect it nothing happands. What am I missing, what do I have to do to correct this?

I have deskscape and dreamscene installed. but dreamscene stop working on every startup due to explorer not closing properly, i don't know what cause explorer to not to close properly, i cheacked eventviewer there is no errors. **This only happands when i run active backgrounds** Is it because i have a laptop?? Specs: Laptop 2.2 GHz Duel-Core 3 GB Memory 512 VGA nvidia
