Some time ago, Google created a Desktop Sidebar to allow gadgets to be stationed there. And Microsoft added this same feature in Windows Vista. However, Microsoft decided not to include the Sidebar feature in Windows 7 (but still keeping the ability to have floating widgets). And recently Google decided to shutdown the Google Desktop as well. I like very much the Sidebar feature, i.e. always having it's own space and being able to add gadgets there. Is there an application
