Do you have any security software running in the background? Try adding exceptions for Impulse or temporarily disabling it and try Impulse again.

Can you please follow this link in Internet Explorer: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/enumerate_startup.bat save the file, run it, and attach the log file (named startup.log) it generates on the desktop to an e-mail ? Can you also please go to Start->Run(or Start Search in Vista) and type 'dxdiag' and hit enter. Try closing Impulse and running the following file: http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/fix_registrations.reg Make sure to follow the link in Internet Explorer, as other web browsers will not handle the file type correctly. Once you follow the link, save the file and double click it to apply it. Then relaunch Impulse. You will need to re-login with your username/e-mail (either will work) and password.
