"Rubber-band" AI almost never works out to be a fun gameplay element for competitive gameplay. Truely random elements can be an awesome boon to a game... see Roguelikes and the diablo games for great use of random seeds in games. But when it comes to things that directly affect competition... randomness just feels cheap. Are we playing a video game or are we playing craps?
I would take a war score advantage over a slight level advantage any day.
You can't farm your way back into the game.
Do you feel like this is true even when you are eating up the opponents' angels (for example) and all they have to munch on is basic soldiers? I don't have enough game time under my belt to make a definate call on that one yet. Of course the answer depends on the extent of the kill discrepency... but in general terms?
Bug. Not the easiest thing to fix, however. To work perfectly, the interface would almost have to read your mind as to what you want to do next. There is no really easy standard to go by. The best bet is picking one method and going with it. That said, as things are now, I end spamming mouse clicks a whole lot in this game to compensate for unpredicatable DG actions. My using the slowest DG in the game doesn't help either... even small mis-steps can really screw you when taking one step takes

If I remember correctly (from reading that post a week or so ago) you can only grab the most recent game's replay by this method unless you have renamed/moved them. I am still baffled by the lack of screen shot support in this game, let alone replays.
Have you met Pete? Or maybe his friend Repeat?
I have never waited more than a couple of minutes to start a game. I wouldn't. I would give up after five, easy. To the OP: I have had much more success with custom matches than with skirmish and pantheon games. The way I see it, let them figure out the match-making stuff... I'll play and practice with randoms until the time comes to get more serious about the game. Edit: Oh. You were talking about custom games? I have no suggestions for you. Sorr
Err, this build discusses tower rooks, who usually forego hammer slam. But yes, the same rule applies. Do not leave your large, brown, brick-made friend unattended.
I don't see how Rooks who dont use the Roll & Slam combo get any kills in the course of a game against decent opponenets. Almost all of my kills as a hammer rook come from squishy DGs who have been a little too brave-- coming into melee range. One
Almost every match I play I think that at least one DG is overpowered. I started keeping a list so that I could track the specific ones and so far I am up to eight. So now I'm trying to work out which ones are DOUBLY overpowered. The list is at five so far... but I still have 3 to play against...
+1
Yeah... going forward I might give that a shot. I'm going to shoot an email to Support@ and see if there is any better solution.
do replays exist in this game currently?
Sort of. Edit: http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showtopic=405375 Can't vouch for this though.
Not to jump on the bandwagon of people tearing this post apart, but I wanted to add: Rook can not use Boulder Roll at level one.

But... you can't take screen shots from the game. That's the point I was trying to make. Rather- If there is a way to do this, I don't know what it is.

Ugh. Gyros are so overpowered.
I usually buy two locks and two teleports right off the bat. Need to hit the crystal because you're trying to hold your lane agaisnt two DGs at once? Lock that shit and TP home. Also- as a rook- I am a big fan of locking, wandering off, and waiting for someone to come back to try to cap. Teleport back in, Boulder Roll him immediately, and smack him in the head with my hammer. As others have said-- Locking the enemies' portals is sometimes the only way to shoehorn your giants i
Gotcha!
Uh. What?
I just had the pleasure of being WTFPWNd. The worst game I have ever been a part of. We were totally demolished almost entirely from the beginning. No feeders or anything... we just got torn up. That's all fine and dandy... The only problem was that one of the players on the opposing team was running his mouth. Not just the normal smack talk garbage, mind you. Like most immature trolling twelve year olds, he was spewing obscenities in perma caps. I'm not easily insulted. I wou
