I think I haven't given Elemental enough play time (which is why I think it's pretty good) and not given D3 enough time because it bored me and felt archaic from the beginning. At least I still have my D3 CD handy!

I like the fact that a clueless dude like me can get into the XML files and make changes. Everyone was bitchin' about crashes, but I did all kinds of things and haven't crashed the game yet. I like the layout of the tactical battles as a starting point. Check out Guardians of Graxia. Yes, a $9 game at GamersGate has me completely absorbed in the intricacy of its strategy and tactics. Even half the depth would put Elemental way over the top. Best to you!
I'd be careful about MH2, but let us know. I played the demo, and my gold version with the editor honestly seems better. Disciples for $20 is tempting, though.
I just wanted to echo the OP's positive comments. Thanks Stardock for making this game and putting up with all the negative stuff. I, for one, have had no problems to speak of and am enjoying the experience quite a bit. And that carries a bit of weight, as I am a hardcore wargamer, so this isn't even my genre. Also thanks to all of you who have posted constructive criticism. I haven't played quite enough yet to contribute in that area. Best to all
I think I see the option of the map editor in one of the screenshots he posted.
Thanks for the advice on deleting the custom maps. Now I know how to show hidden files in the dark world of Windows. 1.14 now works fine!
Thanks a lot. Now the game crashes on start-up and dumps something into my local folder I can't access anyway. 1.13 was working fine. Why can't I just leave things alone? Anyway to revert to the older version?
