This game looks interesting, but I A) am short on cash, and B) kind of feel like like I should play the two previous entries. Also, my backlog is a little bigger than I'd like to see it, so that should be taken care of a bit.
I can't play WOM more than 5 minutes without shutting it down and switching to AOW:SM
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Again, I can admit that the AI needs some serious work done to it, but other than that, I really like what it is. It could use a bit more balancing, but that's not the biggest deal to me.
Most of this sounds good, and I like the potential of "every tile matters." But I am a bit bummed to hear that WoM might get pulled. While that may be in the best interest of the company (to prevent confusion), I do see it making it more likely that updates will stop. I mean, perhaps 1.4 solves all the AI problems and a 1.5 polishes it nicely, but I doubt we'll get that lucky. Still, I like hearing that you're giving the team the "make it great" order without focusing
Can you take a step back and honestly say that one can have actual *FUN* while playing WoM?
Maybe this is going to rain on your parade, but I do have fun playing WoM. In fact, I wish I could be playing it now (I had to move my gaming box to my new small business to help save on costs). Yeah, the AI is certainly in need of some work. And I've seen some graphical bugs. And I do wonder
I agree with hearing more about the strategic layer, as I never really got into TBS for the combat. And I really would like to hear more about WoM 1.4- perhaps I'm the only one, but I really like the game (AI issues and some graphical bugs aside). I played for nearly 5 hours today and had a damn good time. I just wish the AI generally put up a better fight...though I did manage to have an army or two wiped out by the AI at the same time.
I, and most of the free world, heartily disagree that Clear Sky was better. It took some good ideas from the SoC mods, but isn't nearly as good as the first with some essential mods. Unfortunately there's aren't mods available to bring CS to the level that SoC achieved. Call of Pripyat has me interest for now, and I'm enjoying it immensely. I'm still trying out the different mods, but none of them add enough
I just polished off S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl last night. Man, that game fell off in terms of fun at the end. Clear Sky sort of had the same problem, but I don't care what anyone says- Clear Sky was the better game. I got one of the bad endings because I didn't feel like doing one minor task in an extremely annoying area (Pripyat). [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] I've also been playing a fair amount of Valkyria Chronicles 2. That's an awesome series and wish s
