how many times this isn't dota or a remake all dota fans who think this is just a second version bugger off
I dont want a second version, im arguing why DotA has more depth than demigod. I think that every point ive been making should be implemented(at least some parts of the mechanics, maybe not a carbon copy) and they are one way to create imense depth in demigod.
P.S.
If you want people to listen you, listen to them. I don't agree with your assessment of Demgiod and am happily discussing the matter with you, however please don't shut down other people by saying their personal opinion doesn't matter. A personal opinion is exactly what you've been putting forth in this thread. They do matter.
My point was that he claimed that what he didnt like was bad, that is a bad argument and shouldnt be uttered. [q

Eye candy graphics only attracts people in the short run, on the long run gameplay counts and only it has the power to keep people playing that game over the years. DOTA, WoW and Team Fortress 2 are perfect examples for this. WoW is boring i didn't like playiong it one bit eye candy atracts people to the game and if it i
In the "professional" gaming world, when a player knows he will lose he is expected to quit so as to avoid wasting any more time on a game that has already been decided. Some games encourage this heavily.
Counter picks is forcing an attack on your own Creeps to rob your enemy of the advantages given to them by a killing blow. This is a left-over engine feature from Warcraft III, whereby forcing an attack on your troops was allowed with the attack command. I don't view this as strategic depth but rather the limitations of a Mods capabilities being exploited. Demigods percentage based system works much better and as such keeps the focus where it needs to be - on fighting your ene

Nothing of that has anything to do with gameplay, my question still stands.
Therefore my opinion was not INVALID. I never made a comment arguing anythings failures or success. I was trying to turn this back into a discussion about Demigod, while making it clear that just because a game draws comparisons with another game you can't just automatically assume that something that worked for the other game will work for this one. Case and point, Starcraft and Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 are both RTS games. Red Alert 2 has more "team options" than Starcraft, bec
How is that statistics? You were quoting a persons opinion, on DOTA versus other games.
I was quoting a persons experience after 3 years of playing the game more or less competitively, he is a member of the four kings dota team wich is a huge team in the e-sporst world. And besides it wasnt on dota VS OTHER GAMES it was on DotA and if it had depth, something it most certainly has. But the problem is that the game was released with crashes and connection problems in the first place, am I right? This is completely unacceptable, that bugs that have been known troughout the beta dont get fixed is a scandal, if stardock really cared about their customers they would have offerend everyone a refund.

This is a pro player called n3rf analysing DotA, I asked him since he is more qualified than me. [15:50] 1: dota has an extremely high variaty of heroes and in those heroes, playstyles. Many people are fooled by fixing themselves on a single skill/itembuild, but if you take for instance earth shaker there are different working playstyles and itembuilds than the usual fissure max. A friend of mine goes fissure/enchant/aftershock/after/after/ulti/a

And besides. Your amount of good heroes are false and pulled out of your ass. In the current version 18-30 are chosen competitively, and almost all the heroes are balanced, or at least not bad, so please give me some examples of crap DotA heroes.

Seriously? No depth? Can you please explain to me what jungling, Juking counter picks are? How the team fights are so unpredictable? How there are so many different strategies and hero+item combinations that work against what your oponents does?

I still dont understand, DotA is quite clearly a better game with more depth than Demigod, if Demigod was marketed towards casuals I dont think anyone would have had any problem with it.
