I am not sure what goes on underneath WindowsBlinds and I haven't worked in IT since 2007, but the latest Windows 11 updates caused something to burp and Windows Explorer functions stopped working properly. Programs that open files and the WE interface stopped behaving. I uninstalled WB and suddenly things worked again. Reinstalling 11.02 became a showstopper again. Installing 11.04 fixed it. I put 11.04 on my other machine too and we're back in business. If you have the same is

The 1.4 beta seems to fix everything driving me crazy. Thanks for getting that resolved so fast![e digicons][/e]
That sounds kind of like what I am seeing. Bizarre.
I got them back but can't hide the taskbar now because that seems to interfere with the appearance. Strange. I know the update has something to do with the taskbar but it really made a mess out of things.
MS issued a cumulative update that KO'd the right taskbar icons in the taskbar. I have no idea how to get them back.
I decided to go ahead and update to Windows 11 as I am performance-centric. WindowBlinds 10 doesn't work right. The interface goes yucchy. So I uninstalled it leaving the file setup in place. I'm rooting for Stardock to get this one back soon in the fold as I really do love it. Windows 11 is nice and very snappy. My Dell XPS computer runs faster on it. It's a great product just needs WindowBlinds! I splurged to keep my license updated and looking forward to the rewrite. </p
I reinstalled WindowBlinds10 and updated to Start 11 for the time being on Win 10. Would love to know if WindowBlinds works at all in Win 11. My guess is there are likely functionality issues?
This and Start 10 are my two all-time major loves for managing my interface in Windows. I can jump to Start 11 now but without WindowBlinds, I am slightly reluctant to move to Windows 11. Any idea on how soon we might make WindowBlinds compatible. I'd jump ahead if it works or is a WindowBlinds 11 Beta. Any thoughts?
Hope you guys are getting to ready. Win 10 pretty much makes me happy and I want to resubscribe when you have something for WB. It's been my favorite product since XP.
What does your taskbar look like? You should find icons are way wider than normal and the clock is probably missing and the entire bar is unskinned.
Yes the icons are weird on the taskbar but I'm using Object Dock on my two Win8 transplants, so that's no trouble right now.
I have two Win8 machines with WindowBlinds8 that still seem to work with Win 10. It isn't the latest 8.12 version which won't install. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I have to say that not having to do anything but get back to work on those two machines was a great relief. The GUI was mostly locked down to classic windows style re Win 7. I don't mind paying for software upgrades that make for a more useful computer and doesn't force me to work with an interface more lik
Well the earlier version is working and installed ok so I suspect there's something wacky in the latest incarnation. No big deal, I'll sit the dance out until fix or version 10.
Sorry yes it's Windows 10 Home. Caffeine hadn't kicked in... [e digicons]:'([/e]
8.12 won't install minimum requirements error abort My 8.05 works so this is just stupid.
I'm on 10 home and the only user and admin and it just doesn't want to install. 65535 error. Can't run as admin can't turn off smartsense and taskmanger just flashes. I can't turn off defender either. Baffled I've been using Windows since 3.1 and this just ticks me off
I figured since the W8 was already installed, Object Desktop was cheaper. And I'd probably still use it with Win 7 anyway! [e digicons][/e]
Thanks guys. I'm going to pony up for this one. Win 8 needs a facelift bad. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I'm considering going for a full Object Desktop upgrade. The main thing I want to do is make Win 8 look primarily like Win 7 and behave mostly like it. I already have Start8 and used to use WindowBlinds until I stopped using XP. A decent interface is worth the money. The question is whether the customization is tidy and well-behaved enough so the performance hit is minimal. I've got 10GB ram and 2GB video.
