But out of the freakin' blue...it's working now. I did what was recommended above with no results, then log off (not shut down) my computer. Log back on several hours later....it works. Perhaps PFM is at work! Still...everyone, thanks for the replies.

Zubaz...selected a close enough city - Seattle - it is still a no-go. Upgrading? Nope. I wonder if this "lack" of weather support is a ploy to get others to upgrade? Hmmmmm....
