how about the whole "Dozens of habitable planets" ? i mean, earthlike planets are common, but still excepitionally rare. in reality
Ummm... Isn't this statement kinda opposing itself? They are common, but exceptionally rare? Which reality is this? ;)
Yep... that's the highest settings. I've got it on my desktop and it looks pretty good to me. :) Thanks for the compliments guys. I will be doing more of these concentrating on the less 'popular' or 'cool' ships and structures in the game. Just for fun. :)
There's a little annoying bug I've found that is a little frustrating. Sometimes when I have a big TEC fleet some of my ships just suddenly decide they want to fly off to another planet. No phase jumping or anything, they just start to fly toward the other planet at normal speed. I don't mind too much if a couple of light frigats are doing this, but in my last game one of my seige Capitals kept doing it and It was hurting my ability to win battles. Has anyone else had this issue come up?<br/
ahhh... Vista.... Sorry, I don't know the filepath for that system, but I'm sure someone will be able to pipe up and tell you. ;)
Hey George, Unzip the mod to this location... C:\Documents and Settings\YourUSERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods ... and it should work just fine. Cheers :)
Make sure that it is completely uninstalled by using some third party uninstaller perhaps? None come to mind right now... sorry. But it's just an idea... or just look in your Add/Remove program list to make sure it's completely gone... that includes any secure rom crap that might be installed on your comp. Just grasping at straws here... :NOTSURE:
Hey there, Here's a wallpaper of a TEC - Trader Ship. The backbone of the fleet. ;) By frostmage at 2008-07-12
I guess it really is very different playing multi as opposed to single player. Because I know that I had games against the computer that seemed hopeless for me, but I stuck with them and ended up turning the tide and winning the game. Is this not possible in multiplayer because of the human factor? Just curious.
yo guys r awsome!! my gramar and spling r getting batter with avery post!! :CONGRAT:
It gets in the way of all the cool screenshots that I want to take. Unless I missed something and you can hide it completely? ...anyone?-FM

Cinematic mode, for one. For interface hiding, it's one of the following options (I'm at work, and don't remember offhand)1. Has to be bound in-game2. Ctrl+Alt+Z3. Ctrl+Shift+Z
Thanks! I'll be sure to check that out. I'd love to get some great shots for wallpaper making.
Hmmmm. So you folks turn my oops the update broke my machines into a which Firewall is better post. Okay
Only because it seems that people with Zone Alarm were affected by the update.... who knows... maybe Micro$oft wants to "buy them out" ala Simpsons style. lol So they make sure thier latest update screws up ZA and a bunch of casual computer users like me just uninstall and get a different Firewall. Who knows... I'm just another sheep. ;
Wow! That is an extremely cool effect ManSh00ter. Great job!! :CONGRAT:
No...MS for the fubarred ZA. I blame the Canadians....
I agree with the MS part... but don't blame us Canadians!! We're only half way toward our goal to rule the world... so it can't be us... yet. lol As far as the update thing is concerned... yah it got me too. So I have to say sorry to the Zone Alarm guys 'cause I uninstalled their software and installed the Comodo firewall that Leo the Lion recommended. *sigh* It's so annoying all this security c
Now it's working... sheesh what a trial by error that was. LOL
Hi there, I just made a simple wallpaper for fans of the TEC Trade Ship. Enjoy. :) FrostMage Edit... sorry, I kinda screwed this thing up. Can anyone explain how I link directly to the IMG??
I rationalize it as audio simulation for ergonomic reasons. No sound is actually being made in space, just that headsets add a simulated sound in the background so operators know a gun is firing or a target destroyed, etc.
I rationalize it as audio simulation because it's a video game. But that's just me... ;P LOL Sorry... it was too tempting. :HOT:
So... In an earlier post I asked if I should challenge myself more by either playing on hard difficulty or taking on two AI's. Well... I'm glad to report that I decided to do both and set up a map against two AI on the hard difficulty setting... and I won! It was pretty tough, but I managed to pull it off. Thanks for the responses guys. :)
Check!!
Do I need a Mulit to play? ;)
I don't have Impulse and the game runs fine for me??? ;p
just so you guys know... I have WINRAR and it will unzip the files just fine. Don't know if this has already been said. Cheers. :)
That's what the 'continue playing' button is for. :CONGRAT:
I'll keep this simple. This is for TEC by the way. What I do is set up as many hangers as I can with bombers bombers bombers!! I also max out the missile research as much as I can depending on the number of military labs I have. Having 16 bomber sqadrens goes pretty far in deffending a strategic point until backup can arrive. Just my two cents. edit: oh yah... just thought I'd add... if the enemy comes in with all they've got on a planet that has only the defense s
