What are the advantages/disadvantages of Windows Home Server compared to a Linux home server? Ease of configuration. What's the old adage? "Linux is only free if your time is worth nothing." DrGonzo
The first time I installed my Fedora Core 7.9 server after install was complete it took me less than one hour to figure out how to get it going. Its really not that hard anymore with all the onl

I've got one for all you Sins experts ... I recently(a few days ago) reinstalled Sins. Before my format, I had 1.6 installed and all was good. After reinstalling(1.6 again) I noticed my "Apply" button in my Video tab was greyed out hence, I cannot change resolutions(though i managed to switch to windowed mode but cannot switch back). I waited for 1.7 to be released before I said anything hoping it would fix the problem but the problem still exists. Any ideas?
1. Any Civilizations game. Admittedly, the last one I got was about 8 years ago, but I hated it.
I highly recommend you try Civ4. It's an epic game and in my opinion, the most complete TBS game to date.
1 Civilization 3: Just didn't enjoy it. Part of the problem was that the game really puninished my playstyle. I tend to prefer military domination, but the insanely high corruption penalties meant that my new territories were practically worthless. The combat was also terrible. I don't care if your musketman is on a hill, I have a freaking tank!
I agree and disagree with you. I agree with the part where you mentioned unfair unit batt

I use to use any old mouse like many of the people who posted before me until I bought my first good mouse years ago. Since then, I havent turned back. I now have a heightened sense of importance for mice. Anyhow, I use a Logitech MX510 ... it's served me extremely well over the years but it's almost time for a new one. Every microsoft mouse I've used didn't work properly.

I love your enthusiasm but I disagree. Providers will never carry all products in a certain category. Also, why can't you just throw out the box? It's pretty simple. I know you love steam and I respect that, and I too really enjoy steam, but Impulse is a great system. It's been perfect for me thus far.

Hello Sins experts I was into Sins for a brief time but have always loved the game(I visit the forums daily but havent been playing). Now I finally have gotten back into it and have been playing everyday. What a game indeed ... My question: Some of the achievements like "Destroy 300 capital ships" - are they carry over from game to game? I know Sins games can be MASSIVE but 300 capital ships in one game seems crazy. Thanks :)

Ive pirated. I do it because not all computer games have demos, and demos arent that good a indicator of what a game will be like anyway, not to mention you cant even rent pc games locally. I pirate, then i buy if i like. Unless a game looks REALLY good, has uber-great reviews across the board or Ive seen it played before, i will probably pirate. I didn not pirate Sins, but thats besides the point. Im sick of spending good money on games that dont deliver. I dont think thats too hard fo

For space games I play: Master of Orion II Galactic Civilizations II Freespace I Descent II Star Wars: Rebel Assault II Birth of the Federation Probably have a few more but can't think of them right now. Note: You may have trouble getting some of these games to run. If you're not opposed to playing old DOS games, look into a free application called dosbox - http://
Quoting mafutnyoas, reply 12 I understand your reasoning here, but in all honesty a lot of these companies realize they make more money off business licenses and not home user licenses. Hardly... They might make *most* money off business licenses, but I really doubt home user sales are negligible. If they really had realized it, they'd offer the FULL versions of their products free for home use. The whole point with the

Hello everyone - I come to the SoaSE forums most days, and occaisonally happen to glance at the fact I have zero karma. Absolutely no problem at all ... Then today I went into my account to check some stuff out only to notice that two people gave me karma, but it doesn't show in the forum. Does anyone know any possible reasons for this? Thanks :)
