Ok. Gone through everything listed above and most of the time I still can't connect. So, here comes the slew of info. ISP: Qwest Connection Type: DSL Router: Linksys BEFSR41 Problem: As stated above, most of the time, I can't connect to other people. It almost seems as if the connection request has timed out and doesn't retry (the reason I think this is on the few occasions where I have "hosted", I have chosen to eject players that can't connect to me

Lol. Good luck Thrawn!
Sounds like your sisters boyfriend downloaded a virus disguised as something else through limewire. The notion that a game would cause a system crash is ludicrous!
Sorry. Didn't see the first post. :NOTSURE:
On vista, it is located under C:\Users\(yourusernamehere)\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods. The folder named AppData is hidden so make sure you have the veiw hidden folders option turned on.
Alright. Just checking. :) Well, this has me stumped. I'm not sure why your file path is still showing up in your users if the the file was saved in the install directory. The only thing I can suggest is try saving your map in the install folder through GF and delete the one in your users folder. Hope this works, 'cause I'm outta ideas! :D
If you are creating your own maps in GF, there is an option labeled "Is Browsable". This needs to be set to "TRUE". You can find the option within GF or you can open the .galaxy file in notepad( the line looks like this: isBrowsable). Again, make sure you save the file in your Sins install galaxy folder.
Be sure to put your custom map in the Sins install path Galaxy folder. GF made maps should not go into your user path.
I agree with Shomino. I, too, am still learning the ins and outs of the tech trees. Until I can get to a point where I can build up and progress through the tech trees without having to stop and say, "What does this do?" I probably won't be venturing online.
