I was thinking of grabbing the four pack and trying to convince some friends to play it by gifting them a copy. But how small and newcomer unfriendly is the community now? Then again if I can actually get 3 friends to play we can just 2v2 or 3v3 with 1 bot each and not have to be told we are doing it wrong.

Getting Demigod to load faster... in Demigod Technical Support Demigod Forums

I'm trying to play Demigod on two different computers, on the slower computer, I've yet to sucessfully play an online game. By the time the game has loaded, I'm disconnected from everybody else. The computer is a P4 2.88 with 1.5GB and a X1950 videocard. Is there anyway to speedup demigod's loadtime? I've already set all options to the lowest settings available. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have two problems with using gameranger. First, isn't this just going to split the player base? Second, doesn't this just give pirates more people to play with? I'm sure GPG and stardock will sort things out, yes it is disapointing that they weren't ready to meet demand. What I just don't undersntand why these issues didn't show up in beta?

Can't you just update one copy and than copy that directory around to all the other machines... That kind of thing has worked for me in the past in LAN gaming situations.

Oh hum... should I have bought Dawn of War? I'd like to spend the time to learn Demigod, the game seems like it is alot of fun... but the technical issues are killing me.
