The whole point of having to change the AI as far as how much gold and xp they give is due to how gankable they are. I can think of a few RTS games that have different AI personalities (Agressive, Researcher, Defensive) and not just difficulties like easy, normal, hard. Those might work out better than the current AI. I would think any AI that had a personality that stuck to other players like glue and played rather defensive would be an AI I would want on my team after a

The following could be options set before a game starts. The only problem is that people might fight over it in the lobby. When a player drops/leaves/rages (one of the following) They are removed The team can take control of the person who left The computer plays If the the computer plays they can: Have a choosable difficulty (normal, hard, nightmare). Right now the balance is actually pretty good. In the hands of a skilled player any demigod can own any other demigod in kills. Regulus is quite slow and squishy compared to say a good beast who can wipe him off the floor depending on the build. They are working on implementing a clan wars like system so that people could join games as groups and there could be guild like tournaments. Not sure of the exact specifics but it was mentioned in one of the journa
You can see how many players are online and the games going on here: http://www.demigodthegame.com/opengames.aspx
Yeah I had issues with the patch file so I just re downloaded the full 2.3 version and it worked.
I played 3 5v5 games this weekend and only one game we had 1 person leave early. Everyones ping was under 200 and there really wasnt any lag. I really didnt think a 5v5 was possible until I joined a game titled 5v5 and we all waited patiently for the 10 people to get in the lobby. After that game thats all I want to play now because its so fun [e digicons]:D[/e] .
The newest version is amazing. Glad they changed up like 17 heros giving them something new. Completly changed 1 hero and created 2 new ones. The way they do the shops now is more logical for new players as well. Can't wait to see this ported with the AI versions.
Quoting Spooky, reply 14 1) Frequent random crashes - alt + tab anyone?I do not experience them. But I would suggest to simply try the windowed mode. No offense directed at you Spooky, but that's complete horse shit when the only way to play a game safely is in windowed mode.
Agreed. One should not have to play the game in window mode to avoid errors or game crashes. For me the only crashes I get wh
I played 3 games yesterday and had no crashes or issues with the new patch. I have however seen mixed thoughts on the forums as far as half the people seem to say its complete crap with something and the other half like myself have not had any issues. Wonder if there is a problem in the patching?
In the new patch the AI is less suicide happy but I think this would make a good game option that could be turned on or off. I am pretty sure until we see an AI rival the best players most players would rather take the extra gold when someone leaves.
Yes the AI is heck of alot better. I noticed as I was chasing one of them low on hp he actually ran to a nearby tower before telporting out because he knew I would take a few shots myself if I kept chasing. My only complaint is the fact that the AI still does not cap that one flag near their base in Exile. Its quite annoying when you have war rank 10 and they have war rank 1 late game because they are not smart enough to see that yellow flag on their side of the map.&n
In theory the AI should be as every bit as competent as a normal human player. In fact the computer should be able to work together as a team to nuke people far better than the average pug. I hope to one day see this AI and hope he and his buddies give me and my team a run for our money. Then we might all be able to not feel bad when a team mate leaves instead there will be forum topics: "no fair, enemy left the game and AI kicks my ass!" or "leavers causing me to loose my g

Played 3 games with sedna on lan with the wife and it didnt work one time. I would say its a major improvement over the multiple times a game.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 23 Will investigate. They're supposed to be fixed. I have the beta and it's worse for me, specially with Sedna, don't know why.
It does appear to be happening far less for me. Instead of having it happen 5-10 times in a game I am lucky to see itonce. What ever they did to minimize the occurance was progress but it is still there. [e digicons]:'([/e]
They should make the cautious "easy" AI for nightmare AI. I hate how they get so careless and run into towers. Also would be nice for the AI to "team up" so they do spike damage. It would make them far deadlier kind of like how the AI is in dota. 1v1 they suck but you back them up into their base and you better have your team to match theirs or your dead if you get in range.
skills not working till you move, and sometimes still not working till you try it a few more times. If this isnt fixed really soon everyone will leav
That is good to hear since outside of multiplayer issues that one is by far the biggest game play bug.
You will need to download impulse which when you login will know if you purchased the game since it ties your cd key with your email you sign up with. Impulse will allow you download the game.
By the way make sure you setup the ports correctly if you have multiple people all on the same router. I had an issue this past week when my wife got the game and we tried having our friend join the game. Whoever got in the game last would 100% of the time crash. Once I setup the ports correctly on my computer and my wifes computer those crashes went away. Make sure you mirror those ports you forward in the ImpulseReactorOptions.exe in the bin folder in demigod install
Yeah as far as I am concerned this is the next highest priority thing to fix after multiplayer. Next up acheivements... anoying but doesnt make you loose games.
There are no patch notes because they are only fixing the mutiplayer stuff since that is the HIGHEST priority. Read the front page journals if you really want the specifics on that.
I was having issues a few days ago getting myself and my wife hooked up and the advice Spooky gave me got me all setup: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/350439 If its not working with the latest patch might as well try that out.
It sounds like a combination of things. It sounds like those that configured their ports turned off their firewalls and live in the US are not really having many issues. I couldnt connect for the life of me the first week but after their first patch and reading the monks guild on setting this up for networking I have not really had many issues (most issues in game like the damn click an ability that doesnt work bug). I mostly play custom 3v3 and 4v4 and they usually take 3-5
