In MoM, if you "died" you could cast the spell of return to get back into the game. It had a couple of caveats though: 1. you needed to have enough magic available to cast it. 2. You couldn't do any other magic while you are "away". 3. Casting the spell could take quite a number of turns during which your troops had to fend off the enemy without support. Made it impossible to kill off a dominating opponent by simply taking out his capital (your capital being wh

I think one of the interviews mentioned "Race of Man", "Beasts" and "Fallen". I'd kinda hope for more races than that in the final product (MoM had a rather nice line-up) but that's at least three as it currently stands. They also suggested that your positive/negative channeling alignment was tied to your chosen (starting? being able to use other peoples stuff as you conquer them is kind-of a staple in the genre) race. I hope that's not true as I liked to mix things up with life magic
MoM did that--you could cast both tactical combat spells to aid your units and global spells to do things like curse an enemy's cities.
Not to mention global spells that affected everywhere on both maps for as long as you kept them active. "Eternal Night", Dark Omens", "Nature's Cures" etc. were a lot of fun. Not to mention there was a Death category global enchant that made neutral undead pop

Concur. Having an alternative to mouse-zoom can be very handy. Mouse wheel zoom only was a problem for me in supcom too.
Suggestion: Let us use the keyboard to zoom in/out as well as the mouse wheel. My mousewheel has a tendancy to work intermittandly, probably because I use a screen + mouse/keybourd splitter. (allowing me to use seperate work and gaming systems with the same screen + keyboard/mouse) Also, I just like having options in my interfaces [e digicons][/e]

Strangely enough, it does not seem to make any appreciable difference in how fast the game progresses (and how fast the graphics display/update), no
Well, I've managed to make a screenshot that I hope shows pretty clearly whats going on. About the only thing that isn't in there is the "after image" effect. I've tried the print screen button on my keyboard, (that works in some games) but that doesnt seem to do the trick here. I'd also need somewhere to upload it etc. The graphical corruption on the Demigods appears to be rather extreme team colours, the skin is still visible underneath, but almost completely drowned out
Hmm, after some further experimentation this would appear to be a by-product of my graphical problems in the other thread I made. The targets are simply not where their models claim they are. When I target a "selection circle" that is their actual location, it works fine. The arrow is indeed green though, and the circle is red, incidentally. Please disregard this error report, it has nothing to do with the ability in question.
The torch bearer ability "Fireball" does not seem to target properly. I can activate it in "relive the inferno" mode, but it gives an invalid target icon (green arrow with a circle beneath it that has a diagonal stripe through it). This applies to any kind of target I point it at (soldier/demigod/structure). This occurs both inside and outside the indicated targeting range.
Hmm, I figured out it was the Catalyst Control Console NwExilon was talking about and tried the "geometric instancing" thing, but that didn't help. Strangely, when I tried a much higher resolution setting (1280 x 1024) it ran a bit smoother (though not much). Kind of counter-intuitive, but it might have been because it's my native setting and cards typically work a bit more efficiently at that. Anything I can do to help find out what kind (if any) of gr
It's probably a graphics card setting. Go into CCC and fiddle around with them.
Eh, what is "CCC"? I've probably used it before, but I don't recall the abbreviation. As to graphical bugs in other games, not really. The only problem on that front I've recently had was when one game mysteriously upgraded the driver version requirement during a patch. And that was solved by getting a new driver. </

For those raging on no system specs: I'm offering dxdiag aren't I? That'll contain all that info that I (as the aforementioned tech noob) don't know. Also, a little politeness goes a long way. On the "geometric instancing": What is that and how do I do something about it? (tech noob) As for cut/paste the dxdiag, its a huge amount of text, and I have no idea which part actually matters.

There is another tab on the research screen marked "Fleet Logistics". You can research fleet and capital ship numbers upgrades there.

Literally.
