I agree with the suggestions above. They are simple and logical. Another idea I'm not so sure about is that units could adopt a defensive stance against certain types of attacks.

Changing to hexes is a good idea but to my mind it's not a priority. The tactical game plays fine with squares Perhaps what I am saying is thar I think the development effort should be directed to other matters first. Just my 2c.

Thanks I am sure I can't generally be trusted to be up on the best methods. It's the down side of advanced age LOL. I will try out your suggestion, I am sure it will help. As far as the dread lords, I am thinking maybe just a button, accessed from the Dread Lord indicator at the top left of the screen. It locates the dread lords immediately. This can be readily rationalized as tuning one's telescopes to be sensitive to their ships. Or pe

There are a couple things that I think could be improved and would help those playing (as I do) on very big galaxies. 1. In my current game I tried doing the Dread Lords challenge. I was careful not to attack more than one Revenge fleet at a time, but that wasn't the problem. The Dread Lords fleets are colored red, while other factions have fleets, etc. colored red, orange, etc. This made locating the fleets rather tiresome. Not a huge problem

I tried to load the "crash save" and to play it forward, as there has been a hot patch. Amazingly I was able to play without incident. Thank you very much! I had about 10 hours into this game and was hoping against hope that I could finish it. Looks like I will! Thanks.

OK this may seem simple minded but that's because I'm simple minded. To set up a galaxy, instead of vague terms about "the size of this" or "far apartness" etc. why not 1. Set the number of sectors 2. Set the approximate number of civs per sector. 3. Set the total number of civs. With a fairly narrow window of acceptable combos. Done. Of course the numbers will have to align so that it makes sense - and you won't be able to selec

Thanks, I hope it helps! This morning I am getting the crash repeatedly when I hit the next turn button. Continuing to fiddle, maybe I'll discover something. Note: I tried changing the research (fleet resupply is on its last year to completion) but it didn't help.

Hi, I am playing Warlords and while doing so I have notices some issues which are a bit of a problem. 1. When doing the dread lords challenge (defeat three fleets) I have been unable to complete the challenge in my last two games. In one game I defeated all three DL fleets but only got credit for one fleet destroyed. Played a long time until victory and didn't see another DL fleet. In the next game I tried to attack only one fleet per turn,

Very well I shall attempt to document it and probably as a result see what is really going and not what I seem to be experiencing, LoL.

Comments. 1, Stardock is not Paradox (size matters), and how woefully documented are the hugely complex Paradox games? It's a question of where do you want to put your dollars and work-hours. I also seriously hope the documentation gets better... the galactopedia is a great idea but it's bare bones now. First thing I tried was to look up a resource to see if I could figure out what it is used for. Wasn't a great success, LoL.&nbsp

I mean on the report display of a fleet when you click on it, just a line with Repair Status... 79% for example should do it. Just something so I don't have to click on individual ships in the fleet to get an idea of how banged up the fleet is. Of course I realized that the total hp of the fleet and its max hp is already displayed at the top right when one clicks on a fleet, so I am not sure anything needs to be done. My experience comment is still good though.

Some minor things that would be helpful in GC4 Supernova. 1. Report fleet experience level: just fleet experience status total ship experience divided by total ships. 2. Report fleet repair status: total hit points of fleet divided by max hps if fully repaired. X% repair status. 3.Toggle to skip intro. Just save a click. Thanks! If I just haven't found it let me know as ususal. These things com

Hi, Working with 2.0 (release) I continue to see a mildly annoying phenomenon. When I attack a planet, there is a report of how long the siege will take (all things being equal, no counterattacks, etc.). This doesn't seem to be terribly accurate. Some times when I check during the siege (click on attacking fleet then target) I get a number of months that seems like it's the entire siege length, sometimes what is left, and sometimes I don't know what

Number 5: Yes I realized I could just click and see the current upgrades. So its a smaller thing, but still this info could be displayed as soon as one clicks the ship to upgrade it. Everywhere clicks can be reduced while increasing the relevant info displayed, is a good thing. As far as never letting the game decide for you the idea is to render a suggestion. I agree one always should be able to make a choice if one wishes to micromanage, but somewhere in a li

Hi, I have some suggestions and observations that may be useful or may prompt cleverer people than me to point out how what I suggest is already happening, if I only knew. 1. Auto-trade. Instead of trying to keep track of which colonies have trade routes to which alien faction, let the game pick a route that is close and not duplicated. It doesn't need to be optimum, but it could allow the player to choose not to trade with certain factions (or if the relationship is

Many thanks, Frogboy! (ADDED LATER) Number of times I have thanked stardock...too many to count. Number of times I've thanked other game companies....zero.

Absolutely. In my current game trying to figure out where to send an asteroid miner is a chore, not fun. May I expand on this? How about auto-trade? This would solve a lot of issues, like trying to figure out whether you are duplicating a trade route. (Currently I don't see how to tell the home planet of a trade ship). And if the target faction planet gets involved in a war with me, how about just autoassigning the trade ship to a legal

I just got this message in my current game. My thinking is that this ocurred because the home planet of this trade ship has migrated to another faction. So I didnt find out about it until the trade ship arrived at its destination. (just guesing but it makes sense to me). I am gaining a lot more than I am losing so its not a concern but I wonder... how do I now assign this ship to a planet? Just travel to any current core world of mine (or

I am tentatively proceeding. I am alarmed that at some point someone will snap their fingers and presto game over. It's like Dr. Strangelove, re doomsday: "why didn't you tell the world?" This type of mechanic is terrible even if you know about it, imo. "

That may be. I was attacking Toria, which is their capital. Well, if taking a capital causes a dogpile, that is something a player might be interested in knowing! Of course knowing whether it might be or whether it will in a particular instance would be useful also. Yes I checked and Toria just fell to my control. Of course a lot of my trade routes have disappeared as well, fortunately I had many trade routes to minor factions. Pro

At turn 330 or so, despite my constant efforts to help others, and currently having a faction score number three, and being at war with the leader, suddenly the entire galaxy declares war. Is this a standard mechanic? I have no idea whether I can win vs this, but we shall see.
