I like Entrenchment so far but a couple of little things that in my opinion would make things a little better. Simplest one, starbases need a bit more range on their weapon systems. Second one, as the title suggests, is the mines. They're a great tactical device but need to be tweaked a little bit mainly because of the Vasari spam everyone seems to have noticed. Removing mines I don't think is the way, the concept adds too much to the tactical game. I was thinki

I get 'string not found' and so does my friend who plays as well so I think that's just a glitch... I think anyways (either that or all our games have blown up somehow :) )
Then it's 1.04
Mine said it was 1.04 on the main menu when it hadn't updated properly and had the same black market from 1.03 and that tech tree description problem. It still played without any kind of error and I was only made aware that I might have an incomplete update when I read other people on the forum had such issues and I decided to check to make sure everything was updated, which it wasn't as it turns out. A couple of little things to see if the patch has taken or not that worked for me. First check the black market, if the sell price ever goes below 200, it hasn't worked. Second, check the Advent military research tree under the laser research, check the ships listed that are affected by the research, if Defense Vessels are listed, the patch has worked properly, if they're not listed then the patch hasn't taken properly. That's how I found out mine was wonky anyway.
That gravity-well thing just happens sometimes I think, it's not an error, just peculiar. And the reset settings thing I remember that happening between 1.02 to 1.03 as well as 1.03 to 1.04 so that's just an annoyance but seems to happen. I noticed that when I updated from 1.03 to 1.04 the descriptions in the tech trees hadn't updated either, specifically the Laser research for Advent didn't state that it updated Defense Vessels, after my clean install the descriptions were corrected. Mine had an odd issue like that, updated from 1.03 to 1.04 on Stardock, it was playing as 1.04 but with the 1.03 market (below 200 minimum sell price and 3:1 ratio but also the random number of resource asteroids on planets). I uninstalled and reinstalled through Stardock straight to 1.04 and everything works properly now. Odd issue but seemingly easily resolved.
I like the Dunov, especially against strikecraft-heavy enemies, the hull magnetizing ability is just amusing, watching a carriers own fighters slam into it. The shield-regen ability also works very well in supporting other capitals, as a solo capital it's a bit vulnerable though.
Turrets and repair platforms built very close to the planet/asteroid (maximum overlapping firepower) are your friend in delaying until your fleet arrives and to support your defending fleet. Having planets behind your front line producing large amounts of culture so even if they kill your planet they can't colonize it helps as well.
