1. Most of it really requires more intuitiveness, but I disagree on some points. I'd prefer current interface to daily pop-up. There is Hiergamenon or whatever it's called, which is an in-game encyclopedia... except it likes to give you crashes instead of information on 50/50 basis. Also I'm concerned with auto-something features. Auto switch just pisses me off at times, and auto turn can leave me without a recruit. I'd like some override functions or
Hmm... WAAAAY back when i played FW demo I liked how the small battles go, but once i got to bigger ones... it was too much of a hassle to keep every damn unit healthy, and I couldn't stand loosing them for 1-2 more hits when there are enough healthy warriors nearby to win without those sacrifices. I never gave that game another chance. Actually, now that you mentioned it, I even doubt that tactical battles will improve elemental. Think about it - this game is long enough with
If you want maximum zoom with cloth map. Options->[V] only use cloth map. You don't have to restart for it, so you can switch it back and forth whenever you want. I also think that the game has a setting for a zoom level at which the cloth map begins. Still it would be nice to have a toggle button for it.
The sovereign betrayed his own people to defend his enemy's people? Now, that's a strong sense of honor, albeit a bizarre one. [e digicons]XD[/e] Edit: Joke of the day. Drunk sovereign sits at his capitol's pub. Sovereign: ...and they killed my sidekick... Barkeep: isn't that a crying shame?... Sovereign: Yeah, .. If anyone gets to kill my sidekick that's got to be me!
Well, I understand the thrill of "who's next out of our alliance?" question and diplomatic backplay that it brings along. But I think that this can be accomplished by simply setting up "allied victory" option like it was in SoaSE. Actually, does this game even have "official" allied victory at this stage? As for importance of avoiding Xv1... this game is set up on uncapped resources (only essence and starting advantage differentiate between 2 players and 1 stronger player in terms of
Hard to decipher your English at times , but still... 1. If you have everything then building will be in the color of your kingdom/empire. If you do not have something it needs building will be gray. In this case put your mouse over something you can not build and look for red numbers. This is what you need to have to build. Put your mouse on it and a pop-up will tell what it is. 2. If you did not understand Marks - You do not <
And that does it... I didn't try that myself, but AFAIK you aren't supposed to be able to harvest wild game with warlord . Wild game is supposed to be only for those with hunter sovereign.
Something tells me that this is the kind of bug that will be squashed in later stages...
It is intentional and aimed to throw some variation in research, in order to avoid a perfect research order for each game. The techs are rediscovered and that why you might stumble on higher level tech. BTW, the complexity level you are describing is already here: What are yellow tech at the beginning of a tree are green techs when you have already found some techs in the same field. Pardon me, if this belongs to a different sub-forum, I've read that this one is only for systems that are being looked at, but I couldn't find the list of systems that are currently being looked into, and since research is set-up for "ongoing improvement" and "stealthy additions" i figured it's not locked. Closer to topic. I think research system can be improved. Currently it gets progressively longer to reach each breakthrough. (which i understand is a counterweight for terr
It also keeps bugging me... what we use for research and what we use for casting is both called spell points. Imagine my confusion when i first found a book that's supposed to give me spell points. Which ones? current? maximum? or even research boost?
I also think that equipment for gildar is a good idea and "Wizard" profession isn't. My take on wizard proficiency - if you can gain it's bonuses through other means be my guest, but if its something unique... meh, I want my sovereign to be as much of a wizard as (s)he can without being restricted by profession choice.
Gee... OP looks greener than I am... and that's pretty green... Still, this is a fine illustration of what SD is missing. A few improvements they dismissed would have improved both amount and level of feedback. As it is now, players are wasting a lot of time and patience struggling with interface. And that's a game that by design requires time and patience. Funny thing - I never think twice when I exit game, and after that I start to ponder if i should launch i
This may be a bit off topic, but... I think spawning/removing of those quest location needs some more work... I've been snaking to a resource (don't remember what it was) when an inn popped out of nowhere right next to where i was snaking. It didn't appear in my way, rather to the side, but still... I visited it, did it's quest. It didn't disappear just kept telling me that it has no quests for me. Now, imagine someone's been questing like crazy while you've been resea
Had worse... I didn't actually order to move to the square where an NPC was. I just ordered sovereign to leave town and got counter-killed by NPC.
When I started playing Elemental yesterday it was fine (beta 3). Today I'm getting the same problem as OP ( both 3 and 3a).
If I wrote a post saying that Demigod sales were far below what we had hoped for and I said that the reason was due to piracy and that the answer was that we should have put some nasty copy protection on those DVDs to have prevented early piracy what do you think people would say? I know what my answer to that would be. I would say that Stardock couldn’t blame poor sales on piracy but rather the fact that the game’s built-in multiplaye
Heck, have you seen Frogboy's post about Demigod #1 concepts. He's entertaining the idea of the classic pointy hat "Merlin" wizard.
That's acceptable... as long as it never makes it into the actual game. Heck, and I thought Archivarius on Apr. 1st was worst developer joke of this year... Well that one was dumb but not scary. But a wizard with a pointy hat? Going to appear on my screen? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Shop Info - mb if otional Shop CC - mb if optional. I for example don't want a rainbow of descriptions on my screen, they distcract me and actually make browsing harder. Rearranging/resizing - A big chunk of code, not really needed atm. DG interface is build for simplicity We don't have/need 2+ chat windows, 2+ hotbars, questlog, combo sequence indicator, career resource window, microsoft helper, "a list of things we gotta do till sunday", and a mini-game addon, all on one scr
Steampunk? "Holy jumping mother of god, NO!" And to think, those people are talking about cliches... P.S. A question, if I may - What were you going to scavenge from Unclean Beast? or worse... Thorn queen?
There should be a sign - "Welcom to DG forums, the land of wild fantasies and demigods growing to rook's size as they level" The shifter itself is good base to build upon, the question is what'll be built. If that's another animal/elemental/undead shifter then please no.
A game at draconic DP setting anyone? Gotta be fun... till the 1st siedge...
So you can Make an "original" vampire (wow, what a rare creature in fantasy games), Angel (so "rare", that even 1-winged ones are geting old), and a naked nature-gril (hey that's new, if we don't count all those driads and fairies), but OH-NO-NO, there can never be such thing as an original dragon... Most of the time they are "your standard big-bad-boss". So, anyone can compile a list of games where you get a dragon as your main? Queen is somewhat original, walking fortress is
Omg, they are here as well... Wait, what am I surprised about, they're everywhere these days... Blizard fanbois incoming, everyone get your flamethrower and regroup! Jokes aside, Blizes are living on hype, It's just players who make the hype for them, that's it, end of "Blizard is special" theory. Frankly, best their game I know is Lost Vikings. Yes, I played D1, D2, WC2, WC3, and You-know-what. (I'm not big on SC though...) They all have more flaws than an average per
