I need to change my email address for this site and Impulse. But whenever I go into "My Account" on either end, I get to see my current email address but I cannot change it. What am I missing? [e digicons]:S[/e]
When I first played Sins, I thought it was ok, but the more I play it, the more I like it. I love it now. I tried playing Galactic Civilisations 2 and I found it to be ALOT less rewarding then Sins. I don't understand why you were expecting Sins to be like GC. Sins is advertised as an RTS and RT4X. It is in a different genre to GC2.
I agree. GalCiv2 is a fine game, but it comes across as...qu
Because we need more astronomy in the forums of a sci-fi game.... A team of astronomers, led by Stefan Kraus and Gerd Weigelt from the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIfR) in Bonn, Germany, used European Southern Observatory's (ESO) Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) to obtain the sharpest image of the young double star Theta 1 Orionis C in the Orion Trapezium Cluster. It is the most massive star in the nearest high-mass star-forming region. The new i
This is an incredible achievement: Day of Darkness vid Even though this is an EVE-based film, I find the story and the imagery remind me more of a typical game of Sins than EVE (how many planetary bombardments have you experienced in EVE?). [e digicons]:-"[/e] However, this video makes me very angry! Why? Because it forces me to ask myself - yet again - "Why are fan-made sci-fi flicks better than 99%

I always found this the best definition of freedom (from the Roman Catholic Catechism): I. FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY 1731 Freedom is the power, rooted in reason and will, to act or not to act, to do this or that, and so to perform deliberate actions on one's own responsibility. By free will one shapes one's own life. Human freedom is a force for growth and maturity in truth and goodness; it attains its perfection when directe
Well said! From what has been said in interviews, IronClad is basically tearing out the diplo system as we know it and starting from scratch. Fraser went on to say that it certainly won't be anything like the current system, which essentially consists of paying tribute to your opponents and hoping that they grow to like you. The overhaul will also extend to the way in which the AI allies up with other computer players, with the
Marshall stated that the changes will not stop there. “We need to revamp our infrastructure.” She said. “Computer programmers are typically male, mainly because more men get programming degrees. However, I feel that we need more females involved in the game process to make the games appeal to our female customers. Elemental is one of the titles that I have been reviewing. It’s great that it is fantasy based, but it definitely is lacking a “Brad Pitt

I've always thought that there should be a small possibility that a planet lost to culture would join the other side. Any thoughts on that?
I happened to stumble upon this Sins trailer from 2006: Sins of a Solar Empire Trailer I forgot all about that. It really was a good trailer!

Turns out the last patch didn't ruin my game, so I can continue as soon as I get some freetime. Stay tuned...and thanks for the comments!
The fact that Sins puts you in the shoes of a Grand Admiral rather than an emperor or a ship-designing engineer. I love the fact that Sins keeps everything focused on the war effort. Also, the wonderful replayability. Every new game of Sins is like a new sci-fi movie...the type they don't make anymore that involve fleet actions for control of a solar system.
This is actually a pretty neat blog that has some amusing entries: Sins of a Solar Empire I really like how he is getting into the game on a story basis (I can relate [e digicons][/e] ). I thought this was a funny entry: Riverpool Disqualified <span style="col
I wish she would return to being a brunette and forget the phoney blond bit.
One more thing I would add to the website maintenance list: could we get the fan fiction section to display up front on the sub-forum list? Right now, it is only visible on the drop down menu and I think a lot of people don't even realize it exists.
oh, i forgot about this
I love that new Entrenchment splashscreen. It perfectly sums up the Sins experience!
Sins is one of the prettiest games i've seen, and i thought that even before the graphical enhancements
It's true. I am amazed at what Ironclad squeezed out of the game with such moderate system specs. Its looks great and runs like a dream (unlike that recent 18th Century game with the crazy specs [e digicons]:X[/e] ). BTW: I just posted an AAR with some "untouched

Final Chapter Breaking News Alert Sources have confirmed that the citizens of Charybdis have just voted to change the name of their planet to Sinistra, in honor of the legendary battleship that liberated a great many colonies from Armada tyranny before being lost in battle at Agamemnon. "I think its long overdo," remarked Gail Mesna, re
Chapter 3 Seven and a half hours into the campaign.... When I last left off, I had a new taskforce preparing to invade Armageddon. Well, it was a mighty taskforce indeed, one I thought was well prepared for the job at hand. Taskforce Sinistra forms up for a jump into Armageddon We hit an extensive minefi
Chapter 2 Five and a half hours into the game.... Here's what happened. After that victorious battle at Danae, we decided it was time to pay the Armada a visit at their frontier world of Agamemnon. My flagship, Sinistra, would once again lead the way, this time followed into battle by Scythia, a Rapture class battlecruiser. In we go, on the heels of our scout.... Inside Agamemnon, we find two minefields and a space station, along with heavy f
I'd thought I would repost an AAR I did (unexpectedly) to try and explain the game to some people who were unsure whether or not to get Sins (I've done this before. I continue to be somewhat surprised at how many people are intriqued by Sins but are afraid to give it a try.) Since this is an AAR for people who don't play the game, some of the references will be a bit over-simplified for seasoned Sinners.... Episode 1 I started playing a medium
